Girl. ... The @Mans said chicken soup. Chicken stew can be a proper Wednesday under-achiever - the stringy remnant of a wing and skin with bits of carrot and half a jar of herbs all dropped on top of the carcass from the day before. Sometimes even with dumplings which is properly worse. Sometimes we have arguments after chicken stew. Then toast. Of course it would be different in a prisoner of war camp, this is from a mansion perspective. Jules
Brown rice Then to add flavour I.... Added 2 eggs (I didn't want fried rice as I feared losing the goodness of the brown rice with that method) Baked beans (haricot beans/baked beans sauce and all) Pinch of rainbow pepper Served with butter and mozzarella mixed in.
Tonight I bought an amount of " vegetable pottage" from a shop. This is an Iranian pottage that is cooked with lamb, rice, pea, lentil, turmeric and two types of vegetable. Usually this food is not cooked by people at home, but there are some shops that cook this kind pottage and people purchase some amount of it. Of course the base land of this pottage had been Shiraz (my city) for many years, but gradually cooking this food (mostly is served at morning instead of dairy stuffs and egg) spread out in some other areas of Iran, in recent years. The shoppers begin cooking it from midnight and it is prepared at morning. Recently they cook the pottage at sundown as well. Nonetheless the pottage that are cooked in the other cities are different with the same in Shiraz. The traditional pottage of Shiraz is meatier and more tasty.
I'm contemplating whether or not to do a penny pinching Christmas dinner this year, as it's just me and no one else.
Base ingredients without seasoning usually are, aren't they? "So you're saying the white flour is tasteless, why even bother baking it and making a sandwich?"
I find most roast chicken stuffing is quite flavourful because it's mostly herbs, fat and juices mmm. As opposed to the white of the meat which is healthier precisely because it's less densely nutritious than the fatty bits.
Happy Thanksgiving! This is my first TG without my family and cooking on my own and already I am failing LOL! Experimented with the turkey, didnt have enough noodles for baked mac-n-cheese, so I crumbled up lasagna noodles. Didnt have enough sweet potatoes, so I'll make that tomorrow after work...... store didnt have turkey neck to put in greens, so we cut chunks off the turkey I MISS MOM!
Having been fed twice yesterday (roast chicken by ex-mother-in-law then sticky five-spice chicken by oldest bud), I think today may end up as a visit to a take-away! Happy Thanksgiving to those who do it!
I was fed dinner twice this past week already and am being fed again tomorrow. Today looks like it's going to be a fasting kind of day. Not only because it's only 8 months until bikini season, but I honestly doubt I could eat anything if I wanted. God bless Jew~ish relatives.
Tonight I had boiled egg (half cooked). I said to myself :" Don't mind! Chicken is generated from egg so there is not any difference between grilled chicken and boiled egg both are chicken but egg is a chicken that has not been born yet!" LOL

Mother made 3 oven roasted pheasants, mashed potatoes, gravy, stuffing, green bean casserole, shrimp cocktail, biscuits, and pumpkin pie w/whip cream.
I'm having roast chicken. It's almost ready to come out of the oven. To follow, I'm having apple pie - my wonderful sister made me one while she was visiting a couple of days ago. What, did you think I could make an apple pie? Forget it. I don't have pie unless my sister is around. She is a kitchen wizard and I am a kitchen caveman.
