You might be a writer if you wake up with a notebook by your bed, carry it all day, may or may not write in it in that time period, and when you go to bed at about 2 or 3 in the morning, place the notebook by the bed. Rinse. Repeat. You might be a writer when your bedroom's mess consists entirely of high notebook piles and discarded loose leaf papers.
If you look forward to painful situations because it may elevate your perspective. Pro tip: Get a bunch of index cards and write a few sentences on proto-ideas. Pretty soon you'll have dozens of these, then you can develop them further if they're useful. So since I do that, I always carry a pen and 10 index cards with me wherever I go so I don't have to have my notebook when inappropriate.
I love real books. Especially when they are for research. I prefer physical copies when it comes to advice books or research, bc I like to bookmark pages and take notes and just actually have the book so I can flip to whatever page I need at any given moment. As for the marriage thing...sorry, I'm taken. But you can be my back-up plan, lol.

Or when you think deeply about things and try to find poetic meaning in things when in reality it's all just shit that happens and it doesn't mean anything but you think damn, my life would seem cool if that was how everything was the whole time.
When a story twists around in your head from beginning to end. You try this angle, that angle, no that's not right so you start all over again as it percolates in side of you. When you are working out in the garden and you start telling the story out loud, trying different conversations and someone walks by. Out of my head onto the paper, write pen write! But the pen doesn't listen and wanders off into a new story line!
