4,300 again last night. I've got 5,900 to do tonight if I'm to make it. So close...yet so far.

Tried to go ahead and finish Part 1 before the last day of NaNoWriMo ends, even though I've won already. I was afraid if I didn't, I'd get back to all those other things I've been putting off all month and never get it done. But I'm too tired from five hours working at the DIY store and this final chapter is too important to write passionless, shallow crap.

I'll deal with it on Monday. Congratulations to all who fought and won, and encouragement to all who fought and fell short, yet will rise to fight another day.

    Good night.

It's finally December and I can put this 622-word nightmare behind me.

    Congratulations everyone.

Well it was a good run, but I didn't make it. Finished at the 48,000 mark roughly. Soooooooo close. Oh well. Considering I lost 8 days of work for Thanksgiving, I'm still very happy with the amount I've gotten done and the burst of forward momentum on the project. When it comes down it it, that's what NaNoWriMo is really for (at least for me).

    Good work, everyone!

Did the 50,000, but there's a lot more to go to turn it into a novel.

The question now is, can you turn that into an actual novel?

I'm about a third of the way in, and maybe 45k or so of notes. It'll be books of some kind. The NaNoWriMo link may still be active if you want to take a peek. Or PM me for a different one.

NaNo helped me loads. Got me to realise that chugging out words is actually an achievable and useful strategy for pushing through all the crud we stop ourselves doing stuff with. Will you do it again? I may give it a go in April. A friend of mine, a creative writing teacher, introduced me. She's considering doing a poem a day for the Camp. So I'll probably hook up with her and see if we can encourage each other.
