So dunking it is akin to waterboarding and my cookie jar is like a miniature version of Guantanamo Bay I keep on my fridge?
Well that took a dark turn... Thank you, now I will be off of cookies for a while until this leaves my mind.
TMW you discover that you don't have enough cheese to make the dinner that you've already started preparing.
Hew... ... I writted a 1500 beauty. Where to go? I sent it to one inappropriate location, then to Canada. I'm not joking. My Canadian magazine 'currently not accepting submissions.' Unless you put the editor's name in the title. I am clever, Bob. Hey Bob! Ehmm, notMcsweeneys, mmm,not 'college/Cracked,' mmmf, mooow.
TMW you have something great to post to a thread, but the most recent post is also yours and you've always thought two posts in a row by the same member is tacky unless a certain amount of time has elapsed since the first one, so you wait.
On another forum I belong to, that's known as "spreeing" and it's banned unless more than a week has passed.
I've never been anyplace where it's banned. Mildly frowned upon if it starts to look like a full-on spree, but two posts in a row generally hasn't ruffled many feathers in my other hangouts.
We don't have an issue with it here, as long as you're not doing it deliberately to bump a thread or make it look busy or whatever. Visited another forum years ago where "double-posting" or "multi-posting" was very much frowned upon. It either got deleted or you got a lot of hate from people in consecutive posts...
It was a much more relaxed forum (probably because it was much smaller) to be fair, so if you broke a rule, you just got a mod asking you to not do that. Only spambots got banned.
It's funny the things individual forums espouse as cultural facets. @ChickenFreak (I think it was CF) taught me about HIPPO, which for a while I thought was a general concept on forums because I tend to be oblivious to these kinds of things, but it appears it was pretty specific to a given venue of forums (parenting related) and not a *thing* in other realms. TMW you realize you really, really, really overthink things.
And here I though HIPPO referred to a certain video that my 7-year-old nephew and I enjoyed together, quite to his mother's distress
