    Hello again

Discussion in 'New Member Introductions' started by Andrae Smith, Dec 10, 2018.

    Hello WF,

So I’m not really new, but I’ve been gone a long time, so allow me to reintroduce myself.

My name is Andrae. Most of the time I go by Drae now. I started my jouney as a writer years and years ago with a personal journal. Well before that i liked telling stories, but in my teens years, journaling helped me wade through the emotional waters and understand myself and people at deeper levels. This insight prompted love of writing.

Flash forward a few years. I joined the Forums here in my senior year of high school to push myself beyond what I thought I knew. And it was magical. Suddenly i had so much to learn and expand into with great people around me, pushing me, challenging me. People I consider friends. (That’s you all! People like @Wreybies and @ChickenFreak and @jannert and @minstrel and sooooooo many more!)

But things got stagnant and The world started calling to me. I had some living to do. I left the forum to explore and I hve found a lot. I ould pop in from time to time, but now I feel I’m ready for a return. Perhaps not to where I was, but to a similar place, on a higher plain. A return to where it began.

All that to say, Hey guys.

You were one of the nicest and most helpful people on the forum. It's great that you're checking in again. I hope you're doing well, and your mom and sister are as well.

    ANDRAE!!!!

Welcome back and it's GREAT to see you! You are a bringer of life and soul and sheer juice, and the forum is always better for your presence!

I hope everything's been going well for you. Some things have changed around here, but it's mostly the same. Many of the same old timers are still around, and we have a bunch of great newcomers (at least new since you were last around here) peppering the place up. And life goes on.

    :)

Awe shucks! thank you for the warm welcome. I'm honored to be thought so well of. And they are doing well enough. Getting excited about lifeand ready to face the new year from an entirely new head space. I'm so proud of where they have come. Lexi's doing well in school, and Mom's a successful realtor. I never knew she had it in her, but there it is!

    how have you been?

Minstrel! Buddy, how have you been? Thank you so much for the open arms! Boy, I hope I can live up to the reputation you guys have built up.

Things are going well in the grand scheme of things. I have my stable, well-paying job. I'm still comfortable in my apartment in Colorado. I'm growing in my spirituality and magickal craft. I found a girl and loved and lost, but I'm coming out stronger, wiser, and more eager to use the experience to it's fullest. Yesh, I am doing just fine.

I anticipated some changes. Anything major I should know about?

Nothing comes to mind at the moment. We've got some excellent members who have joined since you left, a few who have pulled back and aren't contributing as much as they used to, and etc. There are some changes in the pipeline as regards the physical structure of the forum, but Daniel and Co seem to think these will be less expensive to run and very beneficial.

It seems to be buried a bit under FAQ in the Information section. But once you find it, everything is there.

No problem at all! I too have been super busy. Christmas at Walmart. What can I say?

It's good to hear from you. How is everything? Work, writing, etc?

    • Work was jammed pack. Weeks of 24/7 stress and business. :p I’m taking a week off next week so I don’t completely lose it.

    • Writing? I’ve a mentor who really helped me tremendously over the last year. He says I’ve improved a lot since we first met.

I know just what you mean about work. I'm scheming a way to take some time off here soon. Not sure exactly when--perhaps in January--or for how long, but it will be a substantial chunk of time as I seek to take back my life.

I think it is awesome that you have found a mentor! I had one for a little while and she nitpicked the hell out of me, but it made me that much better. I stopped sending her rough drafts as she taught me how to see and ask questions and it made me that much better. I could probably use another mentor soon... then again, right now, perhaps there is room for Spirit to be the teacher and soul to be my mentor.
