I write a bit on and off. Just recently I've been writing more than usual. I like experimentation and my work has what some call a 'pitch black' sense of humor. I don't try to write in genres but ideas. I kind of like mixing and mashing. Sometimes I do a bit of tweaking and subversion of common tropes and formulas. I personally would rather like to see my storytelling as a series of combining disparate ideas and then trying to come up with a system of cause and effect to make them work. I don't consider myself an aspiring pro just somebody who likes to get his ideas out to the world. Right now I'm working on a serial novel about a manic DIY composer dragged into a surreal odyssey through the grotesque underbelly of Tampa, FL by the disappearance of his prized violist. My goal is to write a chapter every Sunday, edit once every day, and release on the next Sunday. I've only released the first chapter but am in process of editing the second.
Welcome! I'm a newbie too. Your serial novel sounds intreguing. I'm in midst of editing my first crime-fiction novel and hope to post some bits soon for feedback. Good luck with the book!
