    Random Chapters

Discussion in 'Collaboration' started by The Piper, Apr 5, 2019.

    Hi everyone!

I know I've started a thread on here very recently and possibly shouldn't be starting another one, especially since this is for the same book, but I had a feeling if I posted this in the first thread nobody would see it. Feel free to move this, or just tell me to pipe down.

How about this? I don't want to ask anyone to read huge chunks of my work, and realistically I don't think I can read multiple huge chunks in return - so how about swapping single chapters?

We can do this however you like. If you have a chapter you want critiquing, send it my way, and I'll send you one in return. It can either be one I feel needs most work, or a number you've selected at random, or whatever. But just little swaps here and there so everyone gets a little something out of it.

Let me know if you're interested! And it can be multiple chapters if you like, at this point I'm happy to read whatever whenever if it gets me a little closer to a finished book!!

    Thank you,

    Piper

I honestly dont mind doing critiques or reviews in general. Not interested in a swap since I dont really have anything that I want reviewed at the moment, but I can maybe help with a review if you would like of a chapter here or there. Just let me know.

@EFMingo that would be really helpful, thank you! How much would you be willing to look at? Most of my chapters at the minute stand at around 2500 words (a couple go over, longest is 3500). Let me know what you think! Thanks again.

How about I start with just a few and see from there. And what's the time expectation per chapter? I'm pretty busy generally, so dont expect next or same day usually.

Sounds perfect. In terms of expectations I'm really not worried - the only part of my book that's finished to a degree where I want people to see it is part one, so my thinking is if I can get that out and being read now then I'll have some material to work from when it comes to final edits (probably two or three months away). I wouldn't ask you to rush or worry about deadlines or anything.

Thank you! I can either save part one as a Google docs file or email it to you - if the latter feel free to PM me your email, if not I can just share a link on here whatever's easiest. Absolutely no obligation to read it all, obviously, but then you can pick and choose at your leisure.

    Hi Partridge,

That would be great! Supernatural horror, not for everyone I know so if you want a quick glimpse of what you'd be getting into there's a few sections in the workshop. Pretty strong gore in places (stronger than what yoully see there) so appreciate it's not everyone's cup of tea. If you'd be willing to swap or want to arrange anything feel free to PM me! Thanks so much for your interest.
