    I've just learned that one of the classes I'm teaching has some issues that, taken individually, would be somewhat taxing, but in combination are going to be deadly. I wish that my superiors had taken the time to realize what they were doing when they put everything in the pot.

    I am horrid at self-motivation... I want to better myself and try to get my body healthier so that i can do more in my new occupation (though I don't havce too). and I just have the hardest time getting up and doing stuff. going for walks, going to the gym, etc.

    I am just so youse to sitting down in front of a laptop, not even given it a second thought.

    (Maybe this is first world whining matieral. :p )

    Is that what it's going to cost you to move from Ireland to England? When I was moving to The U.S. from Canada, the whole process cost me close to just under 10,000.

    Thankfully not. That's just a breakdown of the flight costs from Dublin to Arizona.

    The flight back to England is only 15 euro, and as I am a British Citizen, I don't have to get a visa or any kind of permit.
    Moving to Ireland only cost us the flights too. We had 2 suitcases each, and that was it.

    So, because of some dumb stuff that happened on the patrol side of things (patrol being the officers on the street as opposed to us COs), we are no longer allowed to curse at work. And supposedly we will be written up if heard to do so.
    WTF??
    You do know that we work in a JAIL, right boss?
    This is BS. (there, see, not technically cursing.)
    I mean, most of us are ex-military. It's a part of our personality. It's a part of our environment. It's a part of our tough-as-nails persona that we show to the inmates.
    So, what, now when an inmate is doing something dumb, I'm supposed to say "What the fudge are you doing?" and expect not to get laughed off?

    Probably matters more on the street where the citizens can hear you - we have a never ending battle to get our operatives to keep it relatively clean while they are out and about.... or we get complaints about the interesting new words little jonny and janey have learnt

    I can understand that, and that it's a matter of professionalism. But inside the jail? Come on now. Maybe this is more a "First World Whinging" topic, but I'm annoyed, lol.

    The royal marines at the base up the road have been told not to sing rude marching songs as it upsets the old ladies - I can't really see how thats going to go

    Good Lord! World is getting more or more wussified. Either that, or it's always been wussified and it just more noticeable.

    I know my dad always gave me a good dose of calling me wussy, when I acted like one, LOL. The bad part is, years later while watching Home Videos, I declare myself a wussy when I started crying from a little bump on the elbow. LOL

    Just tell me if you want to learn some new Finnish words?

    This lady translates some words wrong. And her she don't say those words in a right way.

    Vittu = cunt, not fuck.
    Perkele = Saatana = Satan

    In a normal office or retail setting oh, I can understand. But in a prison!! Aren't you supposed to be a bit intimidating for the prisoners so they'll listen and not laugh as you struggle to not use cuss words!

    We always got told not to sing the really nasty ones when we passed BOQ (Base Officer Quarters, the nice houses where the little zeroes with families lived while we were drinking ourselves unconscious and head-butting dumpsters).

    I always though the BOQ was the bachelor officer quarters - what we Brits call 'the block'

    Could be that was the correct term, but I think I remember using it for the officer's family housing as well. It's been a while.

    In my first term of boarding school I had a Ukrainian roommate who spoke a lot of Russian. She made liberal use of that word.

    Oh God, I'm having flashbacks.

    I learned it from watching Russian dashcam videos on youtube. Guessed the meaning from context, confirmed it with our local Russian linguist.

    It's how I recognise Russian submissions to Failarmy. They've started bleeping out English swear words - :mad: - but not the Russian ones! :D

    I'm worried that my phones battery has finally given up... and that's a problem I don't want to be stuck with in England (especially seeing all tickets and boarding cards and shit is most easily accessible through my phone).

    Also it's barley worth getting the battery changed (other than to survive the trip) seeing how the phone has other issues and is just waiting to be replaced when I get more money.

    Also don't have an adapter for my laptop yet, so I shouldn't waste it's battery to write complaining post os WF...

    It's the twentieth anniversary of the Columbine massacre today.
