Another Sim whinge today. I moved out a mum and her toddler. Mum went off in the cab, and the toddler stayed behind. Technically, mum would now have starved to death...but she can't die, because she's left the plot! Because of this cock up, I can't save the games progress either*!! If I go back to the neighbourhood, I lose everything of that household. *Yeah, I'm either constantly saving my progress, or I forget entirely. Rarely anything in between. Spoiler If this continues, I may create my own sim whinge thread.
Another tech related whinge. I can't save pictures into my artwork folder on Pinterest yesterday or today. I can save anywhere else, just not there.
I made bread the other day. Very nearly. Haven't used my bread machine in a while, so I dusted it off (literally), found a recipe for bread machine pumpernickel online, and put everything in the machine. Now, my machine has a separate yeast holder so that you can set the timer and have fresh, hot bread in the morning, if you so choose. So I put all the dry and wet ingredients save the yeast in the cooking bucket part (what do you call that?), and the yeast in the little yeast holder/dispenser in the lid. Started it up, and it mixed things up most nicely, then paused for some time, then mixed things again, then paused, then I heard the "clunk" of the yeast holder releasing its cargo. This was like an hour into things. What I didn't hear was the paddle kneading everything up again, so after a while I checked on it, and the dry yeast was just sitting on top of the ball of dough, being gently warmed. I probably should have restarted the whole process then and there, but I wanted to see how things were going to play out. After all, I'm no baker, that's why I got a bread machine. This is how they played out. This is the finished product, after four hours and thirty-nine minutes. It is a very solid and filling bread, worthy of the alleged origins of its name.
My deodorant seems to have grown legs and walked over. Cant for the life of me find it. Should pick up a cheap replacement on my way home from work but the second i bring it through the door ill find the other i bet.
I tried looking up my local news on google news, it seems google thinks I live in Texas. They keep giving me news for the Dallas-Fort Worth area.
Forgot to get one on the way home, had to walk back down to get one. Also needed laundry detergent since I need to wash my work uniform constantly through the week. New first world whine though....why on earth does my Dollar General have fabric softner (and dryer sheets/pods) in one asile but the detergent all the way tucked into a corner of the other end of the store. Eight dollars for two essential items plus a drink. Not to much but still enough to nickel and dime to death. Mabye I didn't need the drink, only a added two dollars (one ninety) but have been meaning to cut soda back making a lot of changes now might as well. One less thing to nickel and dime. Been drinking more acohal lately. Gonna do the British diet booze and tea.
Sorry to be the one to tell you this, but...not all Brits drink booze and tea. I'm living proof! Perhaps that's why I was sent away in exile, for being a national disgrace.
I was all such a whirlwind of laudanum, absinthe, and muttonchops that one could scarce keep track of the years.
I miss pastry goods. Haven't to date found any without palm oil in, and I've been PO free since 2017.
You can’t beat a Botham’s pork pie. Proper pork pie like pies should be proper. Even the jelly were liquid and hot. I’ll buy three tomorrow.
My iPad keeps dropping the WiFi signal. I'm starting to think it's a subtle hint to stop screwing around on the internet and get back to studying.
Life is trash. The battery in my Bose noise canceling headphones died, and I'm in this coffee shop trying to focus on at least thinking about writing, but the music in this place sounds like I'm at a bar. Spoiler Aiming for maximum ungratefulness
Reminds me of my experience in McDonald's earlier. The music was like I'd expect in a club, and very loud. I was one of 5 customers at the time. There was no need for it to be so loud. It was helped along by a girl playing some game or other which had a jarring kind of music of it's own. The blend was excruciating to my ears. In a related FWW, as much I admire the paper straw implementation at McDonald's, they don't last the length of your drink. Last time I had to turn it around because the paper got too damp, and today I had to throw it away as it had collapsed in on itself at both ends! Think I'm gonna buy myself a reusable bamboo straw and carry that in my bag instead. Hard times.
Next thing you know, you'll be one of those climate change snobs leaving the farmers' market on your ten-speed with a canvas bag full of local produce. Spoiler which is honestly my best life
