It's kind of a stupid idea. But what if you put a book character(s) in a video game? Would that do well? Would it get people to read the book? It's kinda stupid, I know. But a lot of people play video games. And crossovers are always something I found cool.
I kinda seen it happen before. There was once a game called Tsukihime which was made by the same guy who wrote a novel series called Kara no Kyoukai. Tsukihime and Kara no Kyoukai have similar elements to eachother which are meant to be a homage of sorts and part of the Kara no Kyoukai was available as a bonus in the Tsukihime Special Edition.
IDK, but I know they have a type of game called a Visual Novel that offers the reader/player choices at points to shape the story by their choices. Has different story lines based on what the reader chooses the character(s) to do at each junction of the story.
well these people put a guy named Geralt of Rivia from a popular book series in a video game and it worked pretty well for them Of course, the book was already successful in Poland, but now it's known worldwide.
I don't see how it would help unless they are closely related (books and games of the same series/story). How would players know the reference? Usually it's the other way around, that a recognized character is put in, and those that have already read the book recognize the reference, and then perhaps refer to it to those that haven't. To everyone else it would come across as a character from the game. And would probably be seen that way even when reading the book (oh hey, it's that character from the game).
