I buy both. I like being able to take a bunch of book with me on trips. There's a kindle app on my phone with the same access to my books I have through my iPad, and that app is a lot easier to tote around than a few hundred pounds of books. But I also buy print books because it gives me a vague feeling that I'm helping someone keep his job.

you can pay by card by post or online - if you want to pay cash you have to use the post office check and send service which would mean a trip to the north

I remember the good old days when google looked up word for word what you typed. Nowadays they pluck any word typed and give you a pile of irrelevant bullshit.

My Mac has three monitors, counting the built-in display, but only two are 1080p. The left one is an Acer screen with a slightly lower resolution. Oh, the horror of these conditions, my spirit shall never recover. :p

    How's that for a first-world problem?

Bored off my arse. It's cold and wet still, so I have the fan heater making a racket, just to warm my feet up. To add insult to injury, I heard that England was having a heat wave last week! Heaven forfend we should see more than 10 minutes of sun though. Fuck Ireland and it's permacloud. I'm beyond fed up over here, and my therapy hasn't even started yet. :(

I feel like I'm in some kind of psychological torture film.
Is it obvious that I'm having a low day today?

I think you heard wrong. My bit of England was like 15 degrees through most of last week.

The state of HBO Nordic really makes me appreciate how functional Netflix is. God damn it, HBO, step up your game.

Do you have Jolly Ranchers there? They combine the worst aspects of hard and soft candy. Feel like you could crunch them, but if you bite down, they just mold themselves into your teeth and stick like some sort of sugar-tech epoxy. No need to worry about your fillings, if you've got the jaw power they'll remove your whole tooth.

    And some people love them.

No. We're not big on Hershey's. If you're curious about why, I'm sure @Cave Troll will fill you in on his experience back in February. :p

I was brought up with a culture of decadence and hedonism. Artificial colours as well as flavours, cocoa butter and lots of sugar!

There's an evil migraine trying to creep its way into my day. If pattern holds true, this one's going to suck.

This is why I've never liked chewy sweets in general.

To be fair, they were ok when they warmed up a bit. :)

ETA: They came to my door in a refrigerated tesco truck. :p

I've just eaten a Drumstick that's been in the sun and it wasn't that bad. They're awful when it's cold and you can't even get your teeth into them, though.

I've been trying to teach myself to use keyboard alt+ shortcuts for quite some time now. The problem is that when you miskey, the results can be pretty goddamn alarming.
