Reheated leftover Chinese food. I`m overworked and exhausted sue me for letting somebody else cook. Try to keep it so it`s not too unhealthy. Less chicken drenched in sauce more chicken and shrimp with veggies in a garlic sauce. With some wild lettuce tea to wash it down. There`s never wrong with foraging through the yard. Wild lettuce tea, dandelion, tea, dandelion greens, fresh wild mint, and etc. Our neighbors may look at us like weirdos but hey. We let things grow in a bit more, but it`s still better looking then him mowing his yard so low it`s barely even a yard anymore.

    ....getting off topic.

It's Father's Day, so I made sure that put a home cooked meal on the table. Mr. Kelly wanted a nice corn and crab chowder, so I delivered!

I made spicy crab poke bowls this evening. They came out pretty good.

I had a chicken carcass left over from the weekend, so I boiled it down to make chicken and dumpling soup.

Ate earlier, so had a 'snack' for supper. Various greens, almonds, cranberries, and apple cubes. Thinking I need to eat some protein of some sort later.

Corning some ribs. Getting them in the brine now, though they won't be ready 'til Wednesday.

Alfredo, noodles, and sweet Italian Sausage. (Though the mix packet may be almost 20 years old,
but I think I can survive a bit of a vintage powdered packet of mix.) :p

Went up to visit the dear ol' mum last week and, bless her she had made a (actually very good) chicken curry. For reasons known only to herself she decided to bulk it up with some orzo that I bought her, but being almost blind she managed to grab a packet of Batchelors super noodles from the cupboard

So... chicken curry with super noodles. I did also notice the date on a money off voucher on the side of the packet:-

These damn noodles are older than my son's girlfriend!

Today's nosebag was an "open the fridge and see" which actually turned out amazing - a stir-fry hot salad of leek, red-onion, red-pepper, and fennel, some brown rice with quinoa, half an avocado, and falafels, all with a glug of Aldi's spicy mango and lime peri peri sauce. Suitable for vegans, but tasted good enough for a carnivore (c:

    Biltong.

Well, "tonight" is a bit of misnomer; it went in Sunday afternoon and it's currently Wednesday evening, but the first thin strip was ready for tasting, and it's pretty damn good. Hoping the big boys dry by Saturday or so...

Chicken Adobo. Never tried it before, so I've no idea how it will turn out, but the recipe and pictures looked interesting.

It is rainy season, which is doubltless slowing things down, but i've got the meat hung in my smoker and the machine set to 100f (about 38c, IIRC. The lowest setting) No smoke chips, just the heat to aid in keeping the air somewhat dry and in motion through convection.

I have four days off in a row, so you bet I'm cooking again! Today is grilled chicken wings with two dipping sauces (an Asian style sweet orange chili and a garlic butter parmesan), corn on the cob and loaded potato salad.

White wine pairs best with chicken, but I'm wondering if I should just maybe bring some cold summer sake on account of the Asian dipping sauce? Let me know, I'm on the way.

Chorizo stew: chopped sausage on hob, onion, garlic, potatoes, chicken stock, water - into oven. 2 hours, then coriander, bread & cheddar AGAIN.

Original recipe includes splash of sherry...umm, & no cheddar, Cheddar is life.
