Today has been a day of stuff. Got a package from my lovely lady. My red gloves showed up (just short of a month after I ordered them). And my dad gave me some hummus and crackers that came from Canada. So yeah, today has been a good Monday, despite my disdain for Mondays.
My new mouse. Cost me 7.49, so here's hoping it still works this time next year at least. (Other mouse making companies are available.)
I guess I'm not all that interested in Same Day Delivery, Target. I can wait a couple three days for a really cute top or a shower curtain.
I cannot do that. And it was a 'walking into the real shop' experience for the gas bottle that joins other gas bottles, lonely gas bottles bought in error, children of the gas bottles under stairs forever boom boom...or maybe BOOM. Boom, boom, BOOM, boom probably - in those circumstance [unlikely]. The shop itself called Milletts, a paradise for the anoraks and the tents and maps and compasses and Swiss Army Knives and rehydrating rostis of every flavour. Milletts, my sentimental location. One of the few shops I can still visit after I stopped visiting the toy shops. I don't visit any of the toy shops any longer although actually there are none remaining in my city. There is one empty and dusty toy shop. Tony's Toys. In passing I imagine that time of Tony's Toys, his teddy bears fresh in the window, the toy soldiers and sticklebricks, and me stood in the window display, stood in a display in white snow, waving at the children as they wheel past with mummy. Probably I'm also wearing my teeth and my bear costume and of course my staff badge is important to wear that at work. That is my toy shop fantasy. [BIG TWAT]
If you guys thought I was already starting to piss you off with my obsession for WWI, consider this thread 'invaded' ( pun not really intended, but I'll take credit for it if you thought it was good ). I collect WWI (and some WWII) militaria, and ordered this French postcard recently. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Photomap-14-18-soldiers-francais-Belgium-1916-/372706557808?nma=true&si=oIKd7rVMbzTkyNueaMpD%252BK4VzhU%253D&orig_cvip=true&nordt=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557
TMW you buy a vintage postcard through the mail and they just scrawl your address on it and stick on a modern stamp...
I was implying that they could mail you the postcard you bought without any packaging by simply treating it as... a postcard.
Imma gonna make a photo folder for all my precious babies, 34 and counting, but I just had to show you folks the one I've been extra waiting for...The Thunderbirdsesque one... ...the yellow mesh is metal and looks far more delicious in real life. In pristine condition too.
Alas, no...all my cards are pci-e to run on me system. When the global amageddon goes down, thus so too eBay, I'll have enough spare cards to last me decades. Now at 38...planning on stopping at 47. It's a GTX 570...just has a nice old school look to it. I've got another not too old card coming, a HD 6670, but it's a silent and looks like it came from the AGP era or early pci-e when the GTs first arrived on scene. Had to make sure the item description was accurate as I've never seen a 6000 series looking so old school.
Other purchases recently. - a bunch of aluminium gold anodized cable ends for when I install the Deore M6000 shifters that arrived the other day. - a bunch of aluminium gold anodized presta valve caps. (gold so easy to see if dropped and a pleasing contrast for the red frame) - a 50 pack of used but vgc anti-static bags for my growing vid card collection as some didn't have 'em. - broke the handle of me old cheap brand multi-grips when I was incorrectly installing the spare injectors, only $5 more from the local hardware for a quality brand with far superior design all round. - a pack of ten 100mm grinder disks that'll cut stainless, as standard disks wear out far too quick. Only a few $ more, but when used yesterday when loading up metal for the tip, they last a helluva lot longer. - Sunrace crankset (previously menched ?) - Fox fishfingers ( previously menched ?) - 1kg each of Pea and Rice protein powder for me smoothies, experimenting beyond my usual Whey protein.
Just won this old beast. Asus N53J : i5 2.5mhz dual core : 8gig ram : 500g hd : Bang & Olufsen sound system with huge speakers : Nvidia GT425M 1GB vid : usb 3 : bluetooth : blueray DVD-R : 2 new batteries (6 and 9 cell). It's 7-8 yrs old but in pristine condition due to next to no use. Been considering a lappy for about a year...due to the specs I want new would be $600 minimum, this was still pricey for an old lappy, but the specs and design suit me far better than new ones. Pricey due to two other humans saw the value, I won it literally in the last second as I had to re-bid like a mad **** , actually thought I lost...hope it's as good as it looks and the back story is legit. Will replace the HD with an SSD, delete windows 10 and run XP or I might look for 7. Also bought a tricked out lappy backpack off him for cheap as free even though research shows this brand goes for $150. Will need a backpack 'cus the sucker weighs 2.7kg and is huge due to the speakers.
I lost my voice recorder few days ago. I feel naked while stress walking if I don't have a voice recorder in my right... (I don't know the English word for reisitasku.) ... pocket which is on the side of my shorts upper than my knee. Thigh pocket? Femur pocket? Now I must learn to use the new one. It should be good.
