Our point of sale set-up has been out of whack today. Nothing to do with me or anything I did to our computers yesterday, this is across the board. All of our stores are having problems.

I think my hearing aid is on its last legs — had the thing since high school. Making a lot of feedback, will probably need to get it replaced. Oy Oy Oy...

Feedback and Oys? Sure you're not just accidentally listening to The Casualties?

Would that be the worst thing? Man, I wish my hearing would turn itself off sometimes.

Did the person who never took my depression serious (from preteen to adulthood) just state that her cat is depressed?

You can't dismiss your kids mental health issues and suicide attempts and then think she's going to care about your monster of a cat because she's obsessively cleaning her tail!

Power out for seven hours and counting. Laptop down to 12 percent, phone down to 8. Too hot to sleep, too dark to read. Sucks to be me.

Same as we've been having here these last weeks. Muggy as hell the whole time. The stormy weather hasn't cleared or cooled the air at all.

We hit 100 air temp and 112 heat index in Providence this weekend. What's that? Like 38 and 42 Celsius? It was bad. Actually hotter outside than next to the 1100 degree grill in the kitchen. Too hot to go to the beach.

I certainly have my work cut out trying to work towards zero waste... :bigfrown:

Stuff on the left is non recyclable (mostly) plastic packaged goods. The stuff on the right is zero or low waste packaging. :pity:

Weirdly enough refrigerated and non-refrigerated eggs have roughly the same shelf life, provided your unrefrigerated eggs weren't refrigerated at some point. Supermarkets in North America need to refrigerate them for salmonella related issues, but the chances of them having salmonella from small producers is pretty slim (though not non-existent).

Nope. Us Europeans don't, apparently. They're always sold on a shelf here in Ireland and back in England. No fridges.
For further details and info, I found this.

We always keep our eggs in the fridge, but they are sold on shelves.

I may have misunderstood, but I thought I read somewhere that US law requires eggs to be refrigerated from producer to consumer, while European law requires that they not be refrigerated. We keep ours in the refrigerator.

After placing an eBay order yesterday for an MP3 player, I forgot to change the delivery address to my parent’s (my postman is a thieving bastard) so emailed the seller immediately afterwards asking if he could change it. I stated very clearly however, that if he couldn’t accommodate for any reason, he should go ahead with the original delivery address (I was prepared to take the chance).

He emails this morning (a couple of hours after dispatch confirmation) to apologise for the inconvenience, and to explain they are now recalling the item in order to dispatch again to my preferred address.

Read the whole email you moron!! This now puts at least two extra days on delivery!!
