We've been baking a lot. I made garlic cheese and herb bread this morning. I also made two dozen deviled eggs (awesome Keto food) and we're making chicken salad. Then we're taking it all with us when we go see the fireworks show tonight.

Many recipes fill me with a great annoyance and rage. I am not a critic to shame in public but sometimes characters, individuals of previous good standing must be paraded among the multitude for their educational health/well-being.

    1. fennel - very showy, like 'garlic bread' of our generations' past.
    2. cherry tomatoes - vile in this context and primary reason for my rage.

Finally the absence of meat exhibits a certain dreadful piety, a sanctimoniousnessness that must be combated by all righteous & domestic chefs.
    ...

My final nominee for the @BillyBurrows plate of pleasure award 2019 is Mr @IainModerator with his

...a revolting concoction that sent me to vomit across the kitchen sink, taps, cat and hoover...

I was excited to cook Chicken Saltimboca tonight and it was... awful.
Unsure if this was a result of my [lack of] cooking skills or if its supposed to taste this way.

    Here too.

We are having 16°C but fortunately it drops to 11°C in the night time. Must keep windows and possibly one door open because of this bloody heat!

Heatwave hitting you as well I take it? Been almost to hot to function here lately let alone cook. I have made some mean root beer floats though. Tonight after work, rather than swelter in the non air condited house and trying to cook something on the broken and hot stove ended up at a restaurant instead. One slice of a whte pizza with broccoli, tomatoes, and onions with a grilled chicken sub on fresh homemade bread. Was lovely, simple and clean.

We went fishing last night and I caught 3 catfish. I don't eat fish but hubby does. I also have turkey.

Have to try out this experimental technique, fishing for turkeys.
What kind of bait do you use? Pretty sure 10lb test line isn't going
to do the job, but I think a deep sea rated rod should do the trick. :p

Lol wish I could fish for poultry! I'd fish every day. . The kids wanted to fish so we did. Then got upset when I kept fish for them to eat. I hate the taste of fish though. Turkey was fished from the supermarket. Lol.

I hear ya, I am not too fond of fish either. Though I do enjoy fried clams on rare occasion. :)

I saw a film of a master fisherman landing a marlin with line made for bluegills and lake trout. I guess that's where they go for challenges once they've cleared all the others.

lol that's awesome. Hubby and myself have kind of switched roles. He hates to fish. I like it. I hate to eat it, he likes it. So I fish for him and he cleans cooks at eats it. ;)

I do that all the time. And they still want me to pay them my own catch. But I defend my prey with a rod!

I must say that it's hard to row my little boat inside supermarkets.

Beef cheeks with mashed spuds and cheap mixed veg. Never cooked beef cheeks before; they take some cooking but well worth the wait.
Real winter comfort food as the temperatures here nudge up towards thirty Celsius... (#FreezerClearOut)

Tonight I'm gonna pick up Chinese from a great place near home. I get orange peel chicken but substitute the General Tsao sauce in place of the regular. It's divine.
