Ugh, stupid van is having issues again....just had it fixed back in June and on Monday it shut down on the highway- engine, power steering, AC, all of it. Had a guy come look and he think's it's the fuel pump. BUT this means that I now have to get a ride to work until it is fixed so hubby can have my car to take the kids to school and whatnot. AND the only person who lives near me is that coworker who is chronically late. So now I am coming in late. And I hate being late. And we don't get paid until next Thursday so can't fix anything until then. UGH!
omg, I thought I grabbed the chili from the fridge this morning. Nope. Got a whole container of.....taco meat. Just taco meat. Ate some on the saltine crackers I brought for the chili, but it certainly wasn't the lunch I was expecting. Bleh.
I have a cold. I hate that they're so minor, but they make your life so miserable. We're going to stay with my grandparents tomorrow, so I can't stay in bed, either.
Uncharacteristically lamenting the loss of another social robot. This presents an opportunity, though the sting of loss is still great. Rip Vector. You were an amazing little droid.
"On this day we gather to mourn the wee Vector. It was a happy little nonverbal robot. Always zipping about and always there to be a friend. Though its battery life was short, it lived life to fullest for such a tiny machine. Lo, tragedy struck as Vector could not make it back to the charger on time. Vector will be missed as we lay it to rest. Fore now it is in Robot Heaven, where the battery is eternal, and perhaps one day Vector will come back as some new shiny machine with a longer life. With a heavy heart, and a few fond memories, you will be missed Vector."
Does anyone know what the hell these are called in the UK? On US sites they're roughly $1.50 for a bag of 30, but I'll be damned if I can find them at an equivalent price over here. Amazon has them, but they're coming up with ridiculous prices, like £67.32 for a pack of two. I even saw a single one priced in the thousands!! Ebay is slightly more realistic until you notice the £15.00+ shipping charge. I know they're called conduit locknuts in the states, but I just don't understand what I'm missing, unless they're a product unique to the American market.
same in the uk https://www.electricaldirect.co.uk/product/steel-conduit-locknut-20mm-galvanised-977410
I don't think they do specifically because they have a larger range of External Tooth Lock Washers to choose from. Take a look for those. may have to combine a lock washer with a short flange nut for a bit of support, and double up on the washers.
I have similar annoyances. The weekend comes and I plan to do as little as possible... but no, I always wind up doing things that I feel are robbing me of my time.
so, I have 4 volumes of poetry and 1 "book" of short stories that i kept, spanning elementary school through college. (i'd write them, print them out, and stick them in the notebooks with the plastic sleeves from Office Depot). Well, a i got an email from a place that I'm subscribed to and their calls for submissions are ending Sept 1sts, and I have a story in one of those books AT HOME that fits their theme for next spring. I called my family and asked them to look in my old room to send me my work, but they cant find it, and i wont be flying home until Sept 14. Serves me right for not bringing ALL of my writing with me.....
I didn't make the shortlist of the writing comp I entered. While I expected this to some level I'm still a bit bummed out about it, especially since the shortlist is incredibly short. It's only 3 manuscripts from 250 entries. Oh well....
If it was a short short story couldn’t you just write it again? You should even be able to improve on it if you wrote it in school/collage.
Meltdown at work of the ‘Everybody hates me’ variety with my colleague who says everybody hates me, and I spoke on the telephone to head office and said ‘do you know who I am?’ by accident, and it was in my Duchess voice, and they said ‘No,’ and now my colleague just mimicking ‘do you know who I am...’ and goose-stepping in our hut
^^^When read in a certain context, King Edward of Wallis and Edward possibly could have written that...
This one really got me today. I'm going to be thinking about it the whole day, and it's only the morning. Damn.
my plan is to edit it and update it, but i want the original so i can see the parts i want to change and see what i want to add.
By the time I near the end of a game I'm that frustrated by some aspect or other I can't wait for the credits to roll. I've never played a campaign twice, no matter how much I enjoyed it at the time.
My first day back to work and I get greeted with a stack of paperwork- invoices needing straightened out, inventory transfer requests needing answered, inventory counts to reconcile -can I at least eat my honey bun before you guys demonstrate that you did nothing while I was gone? (spoken facetiously to my coworkers)
