I've paid to get a professional to design my book cover It's a romance novel with lots of angst and here what they send me be honest...., would this cover make you interested in my novel?
I think it's pretty good, what is the back cover blurb? Just so we can know if the cover fits the story good. But That font looks a little odd, perhaps a bolder one? That first E's top left corner blends in too well.
Well the watermarks are a bit much. Have to agree with @InsaneXade that it looks good, but you should look into a bolder font choice. @Laraa2005 I put the text on a black background just to show an example of a bolder font would look like. Just for a point of reference. (Also I think it gives it that bit of edge of the tone of angst, while not being overly complicated in the font design.)
I really like the cover. Though I agree with the comment about showing the eyes. Without the eyes the two people look kind of impersonal. Unless the intent is to show that they have something to hide?
I have to agree that the title font lacks impact, but other than that it looks pretty good. I have to say that for a romance novel, the lack of a visual of the eyes isn't too unusual, but it does suggest a book with suspense or intrigue to me.
I would send it back and say the font needs to be bolder, more eye catching because the picture is great but the text doesnt have that zing. As they say it's got no thing without that zing. Everyone will see the cover first. It HAS to catch the eye. As it stands the text ruins the imiage. Look at romance books, or any book really. The text is bold, it's bright... it's saying here I am looove me. Kudos to who can name that movie quote. hint, it's a disney/pixar movie.
Its not just that the font lacks impact its also not right for the genre - you need to look at your peer authors and see what their covers look like. the other thing that stands out is that its missing your name
Honestly? This cover wouldn't make me stop and look. It looks just like every other novel in the genre. Now, I don't read romance novels so take my opinion with a pinch of salt, but it just doesn't stand out for me.
