I hope you all forgive me for saying so, but the issue I have with a lot of what's been posted in this thread aren't six word stories. They're sentences from stories that lack context and don't tell us anything beyond what's in the sentence. From the website in the OP: "Sorry soldier, shoes sold in pairs." From this, you get a whole lot about what's not in the sentence. Clearly, there's a soldier with only one leg, who's facing a certain reaction despite his sacrifice. The vast majority of what's posted here - mine included - are at best writing prompts rather than a succinct sentence that tells a whole, implied story.
