Minus the morning chaos, this day has been mundane. Didn't get blood work since I woke up feeling like a heart attack. Had to eat something. Ah well. After laundry, I'm going to the gym. Hand/arm feels a lot better, but I'll take it easy. And then it's writing time later. ETA: Change of plans...arm is still crappy, so no working out for now. Bah.
Preparing to tank my YT channel, since it looks like they are going to do some insane changes to the site. So better catch what little is left on my channel, before I delete the rest of it before Jan. 1st 2020. In the meantime I will seek out another platform to post my review videos, that won't be so tumultuous. Pretty bad when you have to leave a platform due to the ineptitude of the hosting company, but they screwed up and screwed pretty much their entire content creator base.
Having one of those days where speaking to people is a massive chore. Happens a lot. Offline, of course. Online "talking" carries the benefit of staying silent - which I love to do. Consequently, on days such as these, I always manage to find the yapping types who take a keen interest in me. Ah, universe, keep on playing pranks, old buddy. Cool. Can't wait for the review of Empress Theresa.
The COPPA Act, and Google had to pay a 170$ million fine, and Youtube was collecting children's (under 13) data illeagally, and now they are just broad sweeping to avoid content that may be deemed 'kid friendly'. Creators can be fined up to $42 G's for anything that may be deemed appealing to kids.
Funny story. We eventually got it through, and it squirted through the door jam and landed in the street, nearly wiping out a BMW driving by. The guy nearly got out of his car, saw the four burly line cooks, then decided to detour.
Noped his way right out of being broken in half. Understandable. On a side note, I reached a thousand posts! Hallelujah. I have graduated to...
Tearing down and assessing the rebuild of a turntable someone gave me a couple of years ago. It's an Akai, not top of the line, it's dirty, and missing it's perspex lid, but the most important bits are there. Unfortunately, it looks like the original cartridge was replaced with an AKG aftermarket unit and needles are no longer available, so I'll have to get a replacement and the belt has lost it's bounce. And while I'm at it, I was thinking of adding a built in preamp, because I'll probably need it at some point. I have a couple of diy tube kits that would fit it nicely. I could even make a little window to mount the tubes in in the spot where the pitch slider would have been on a higher end model. Other than that replacing dangling output lines with neat little RCA jacks, and maybe doing the same to the power line with a C14 socket would be top of my list. Maybe ~80$ to mod and I could probably get away with selling it for a couple of hundred. I may even paint it to match my truck if the paint hasn't gone manky by the time I get around to it.
About to do the two hour drive to Riverside for work. At least it's nice and has a bit more topography than my usual LA boring flat drive. That and it isn't the endless lines of traffic for hours which I loathe. But I do have to do a survey there, which is incredibly boring. Have to be perfectly silent and barely move for acoustic, vibration, and EMI testing. A lot of setting up and then sitting.
Been up since midnight. Now 4am. Havin' second coffee, doing some planks. Didn't traintrack yesterday, physical issue. Looking forward to the walk today. Slowly and joyfully rebuilding after the illness collapse 2 months ago. Snagged some early morning fog pics of my last traintrack walk, but fone is outside in the gutter so can't grab and upload, keep forgetting to grab when fone is inside.
Good luck! Just another day I didn't go to school. Another day of endless rain. Another day of pointlessness. I'm feeling blank. I think I need some days to just chill alone. Too much new information. Too many loose ends. Oh. I also bought a pair of new boots.
