How do you get something to go viral?

    Okay. Social media is less about promoting your work directly, and more about engaging a target audience to create awareness & interest in what you do. Interest will eventually lead people to explore your work; if you get the target/content right, you can be reasonably assured that they will have a real connection with what you're producing.

    This is a difference in the purpose of your posts, which therefore requires a different approach to content. In light of this, we can reconsider the checklist discussed previously. For example:

    - Does it elicit an emotional response?

    Your work may well achieve this as a story, but does it achieve this as a piece of social media content?

    I'm guessing no, but not because of any shortcoming in writing or popularity. More likely because, as content, it doesn't fit with the way people use social media.

    This is more or less exactly what I've said in previous posts, but put more eloquently. The simple question you need to answer (for the reader) regarding any post is 'what's in it for me?. The reader needs a reason to share, above and beyond it being just a good piece of writing.

    Believe it or not, ASKING for help in sharing does wonder.
    On Facebook 200-300 of our "fans" regularly share the posts, which helps in organic reach.
    One page is always over 70% Organic Reach to our fans.
    We modestly Boost posts to bring in New Fans
