    Greetings and Salutations!

Discussion in 'New Member Introductions' started by GentlemanVoleur, Jan 22, 2020.

Performing and introduction about myself is always difficult, luckily I have far more interesting novel characters to compensate (so I hope).

I have written my first novel and currently editing it in its entirety. The writing process was so much more fun... I am aiming to have it published this year either traditionally or by myself, still have not decided. As long as someone buys it I will be happy. My preferred genre of writing would be historical fiction (Between 1890 and 1945).

My screen name is an homage to the great, extraordinarily gentleman thief, Arsene Lupin.

All in all I'm here to seek new knowledge, further my writing and hopefully help someone along the way, so it's a pleasure to meet you all!

    Cheers!

Hello there, Voleur! I'm EFMingo, one of the new moderators here at the forums. I'm glad to read that you've taken an interest in both reviewing other work, and having yours looked at as well. Our forum members thrive on that very mindset. In order to post your own work, you need 14 days membership, 20 posts, and 2 critiques for every one work you post for review. I've placed links here for quick reference if you need it: New Member Quick Start and Forum Rules. You will find that the time and posts go by quick, and reviewing others work my be very revealing to errors you may even find in your own writing. Don't be afraid me or one of the other active mods (jannert, big soft moose, and Iain Aschendale at the moment) if you have any questions or problems.

I'm noticing most people are running into the same issue you're having with editing, it just sucks the life out of you from the excitement of getting it all out on paper in the first drafts. Well, if you have sections you are especially struggling with, or have questions on, we have many both self and traditionally published novelists on board here who can help you in the process, provided you take the time to put in quality reviews and question answering for others. Don't be shy, just dive into working on others stuff they've posted, and you'll find many more than willing to help you out. This forum has garnered me quite a bit of understanding in how the literary, writing, and publishing world works, but there always a tone more to explore. Collective knowledge and input is what makes a place like this a strong resource.

But enough of my rambling, enjoy yourself on the forums, and welcome! I look forward to seeing you around n the boards.
