    An onslaught of ads?

Discussion in 'Support & Feedback' started by Homer Potvin, Jan 22, 2020.

Yo, what's up with the bukkake of ads? Whenever I click on a link a new window pops up on firefox telling me I've won a contest? I mean, I'm honored and all that, but wtf?

Are you talking about ads popping up on the forum, or just Firefox in general?

I just tried in FF using the basic member login and had no issues.

Sounds like your browser is infested with spamware. It often happens if someone visits porn, gambling and illegal download sites. Not, of course, that I'm suggesting that you do anything of the kind...

Update your anti-virus and do a full scan. Download an additional antivirus and use that to run a scan as well, or use one of the online tools from a reputable company.

There should be very limited ads on our site.... almost none.

Guests see 1-3 Adsense ads per page in threads. Members should see one on some pages and often non whatsoever.

I believe, as mentioned above, it to be your browser. If you still think it's the site and can give additional information I'd be happy to look into it further.

    Never!

I thought spamware, too. But it was only happening to me on WF and not other websites. Seems fine now.
