    My sincere greetings

Discussion in 'New Member Introductions' started by LucatheRat, Feb 16, 2020.

    Hello, fellow writers.

I am a scientist and currently an occasional artist who just had been writing for all these years. The day job is mostly devoted to medical research, and nights are spent on figuring the rest out.

I mostly write heavy texts that might not find big response in the audience, but some people like those, so I'll go on.

Love nature, dystopian fiction, various heavy and experimental music, visual arts, fine cooking, strategy games.

    Make love and remedies!

Welcome! I might pick your brain cells for some plant based remedies. Dystopian fiction! I'm trying to break the trope, but people are still calling it that. Jeez! Just because I destroyed civilization... :D

Ha-ha, how do we call it then?) Common? Hodiernal? )))

Ah, a talk on the dawn of civilization. The moment when my misanthropy and hypocrisy make that beautiful tandem building delusional hopes.

I called it apocalyptopia once uponAT. Not a future, really, more like a there-we-were/here-we-are-now. All part of my delusions of mediocrity. It would be sarcasm and irony for me. :D

Love to see what you got, in seven(?) days and 20th post! :D

Jump in the Workshop and do a bunch of critiquing! I'll look for you there. :)
    Following you.

I keep thinking about that first thing to post. (Completely lost and nervous.) I guess, my beloved "Clockwork orange" would be just banned along with the author, eternally. And that holds me back.)

The choices are either adult" fantasy/horror pieces (Seriously, Luca? Who am I kidding, that's you.) or one rough short story on family topic. Decisions-decisions...

Counting the posts and the days and the critiques, can't wait! I vote the former. :)

Welcome aboard. You'll find the workshop a pretty forgiving place, but be sure to put your work in the right spots. Also of note: when I first posted there, it took what seemed like forever to get feedback. I'm not sure why, but the more I posted, the more feedback I got (good and bad). Don't despair if you post something there and it appears no one is looking at it.

    Hello!
Thanks for the advice.) I'm familiar with poetry boards where I used to post a some lyrics, and it did take a long time to get feedback. Hopefully the thrill will get me going at work.)

Hi LucatheRat - I'm one of the moderators here, and I want to welcome you to the forum. I must say, after reading your posts on this thread, I am looking forward to seeing what you end up putting in the Workshop. Sounds like it might be some interesting stuff.

I'll do the spiel quickly, because you seem to be on top of what happens here. But if you haven't had a chance yet, do take a look at these two links, which will bring you up to speed on what happens here on the forum, and how we operate.

If you encounter any difficulties getting settled, don't hesitate to contact me and I'll do what I can to assist.

You might want to take a peek at our contest threads, by the way. We run poetry contests, short story contests and flash fiction contests. There is nearly always a contest ongoing in each category. You can not only enter the contests, but we encourage you to read the entries and vote as well. The writers appreciate the votes, and it gives you a good idea of what our writers produce.

Anyway, I hope to see you around the threads. Enjoy yourself. I think you already seem to be doing that.

    Cheers for now,
