Does anybody know of a sci-fi blog that does a “Future Tech of the Week” feature?

Discussion in 'Science Fiction' started by Maximum7, Jul 24, 2019.

I’m looking for an amateur blog online that talks postulates a future/sci-fi tech/science/Idea/Concept in the style of an “of the Week” feature. I already watch Isaac Arthur but I want something I can read. It doesn’t necessarily have to be in English (I can translate it), it just has to be ongoing as of now, consistent and creative. Some ideas can be broad; others unique and specific. Every week at the least.

I do realize I am new here and this is my first post. I really like SFIA, Issac Arthur. Though this site I linked below is technically not a weekly blog you will find no better resource for writing plausible near future science fiction and it does update rather regularly. Atomic Rockets has information that will take you months to digest between many different types of rocket engines from chemical, fission, fusion, anti matter catalyzed nuclear rockets, and even black hole powered rockets. It also has a wealth of information on writing about off world colonies, life in space, etc.

There's a Facebook page called Superhuman that occasionally shows up in my feed. They're always touting "scientific breakthroughs" but when you dig into them, it turns out to be more "lab accident turns discovery into wild speculation about what might happen". Maybe that's helpful to you.

Also, check out NewAtlas (newatlas.com). They publish articles daily about new things, some of which are near-future things.

Science blogs is a collection of blogs addressing the science of today. Gizmodo is a site about future tech. There's probably more on the site itself than in the blog.
