Maybe we should petition for slapping emojis. Or at least drink throwing. Cos the latter is immensely satisfying.

Because our relationship is based on writing, and it's nice to have a different form of expression. Writing back and forth for 365 days, not gaining a qualification or even being paid sucks when it's no longer fun.

And sometimes, you just need to able to throw a damn drink. :p

Never the less this here is a writing forum - the expectation is that members communicate using words, not solely emoji's or memes. What you two do in the privacy of your own conversations is no ones business but your own (thankfully)

I think you might need to take a break from the WF (and possibly from the internet in general) to sort out those priorities. As lovely and supportive members on this site could be.. they can’t help out with those “real world” problems that all of us have. Maybe think about doing more productive things such as searching for jobs on offer at your university, look out for posters and such advertising vacancies, print 100+ copies of your CV and start distributing them to retailers. There are probably a lot of places looking to recruit including at restaurants, clothes shops, coffee shops (and plenty other shops on the high street). Ask around. Don’t be shy... Sometimes people recruit people right away

As @Naomasa298 says, there are various places and organisations you can go to for support that could also give you information about other organisations available too. But essentially, I think you need to give the WF a break so that you can begin to start doing more of these things for yourself.. maybe contact your mum once in a while.. let her know what going on etc. NEVER EVER “feel bad” about this

If you dont mind me asking, what is your major?
When I was in college and needed financial aid, I worked at my university. Because I was an athlete, i worked in the athletic office and helped set up for home games (that sucked... i dislike other athletes...), after 2 semesters, I switched to working at the the library. after 2 years, they took away my financial aid for a stupid reason, so I could no longer work there.
Because i didnt have my degree yet, I used my experiences in class by listing applicable courses on my resume. I used connections (one of the librarians got me in to see a law librarian in town...sadly, they didnt have any openings, but she gave me a tour of the law library and introduced me around). Because I was an athlete, i applied to work at the fitness gyms in town too. I ended up with a job at a gym, and it basically paid for my food and gas money, but it was still something! I worked there almost every opening, and 1 closing a week. (I might also add that, because i worked at the gym and was on my feet the whole time, i did pull a muscle during practice, to my coaches ire... but it couldnt be helped. They ended up working with me once I told them about my job... coach gave me a workout regiment to complete on my own so I wasnt rushing around and pulling muscles, and because i worked at the gym, they let me workout there before and after work, so i got my workout in there as opposed to rushing back to campus to meet my team for workouts. you find little ways to make things work where you can!)

I dont know how comfortable you are with giving personal information over the internet, but part of what i do in my day job provide resume assistance. if you need resume help or general job search advice/venting, you could message me and I'd be happy help :)
(I know i dont type very professionally on here, with the lower case letters and typos, but i promise, i'm very professional when i need to be!)

Gah, anxiety is kicking me in the rear. :( Despite me having 9K in my fantasy and nearing 2K in my Colonial mystery, both of which are growing steadily might I add, my anxiety is telling me that I'm making no progress, that I'm wasting my time, etc.

Worst, it's saying that if I don't meet my goal of a finished draft by the end of this year, then I'm a complete failure and a hack. -_-

Seriously, you'd think our brain would know to check itself like it does literally every other aspect of our bodies. YOU HAD ONE JOB, BRAIN! ONE FRIGGIN' JOB!!

Dear god, why? Put the Dunkin' Seals in the ocean, so that interested parties such as Link and his orca buddies can get some nice seals with Dunkin's special seal sauce on every reef! Putting Dunkin' Seals on every corner would simply turn humans off, or result in great lines of out-of-their-element orcas clogging up our city streets as they patiently wait to be served at hopelessly-inadequate seal outlets.

On the way home from the store today I found my bike missing.

It was in the bike room inside the apartment building I live in, locked with two strong locks (one locking the frame and front wheel to the wall, another locking the back wheel to the frame). But I guess that wasn't enough... I've probably invested some €1200 in that bike over the years.

I do have a bike insurance, but right now I can't find any of the information I have about the bike (like the receipt when I bought it, receipts for the locks, etc.). Will call my insurance company but I don't have my hopes up...

    I'm sorry. That's beyond shitty. :(

Would it be worth putting up adverts with a photo of it asking if anyone 's seen it?

Can you report it as stolen?
