My parents had both a party line and rotary phone (because you can't have one without the other) until somewhere around 2007. The joys of living in the under-serviced regions of the country. But someone at the bar said I looked 25 last weekend, so I'm going to stick with that.
It's weird reading the ages of people in 2008 and calculating how old they are now. More than half haven't been seen since 2010-2011ish. Anybody else freaked out by that? Time's scary thing.
Turned 30 yesterday and it feels surreal. I don't look or act 30, and I find that to be a good thing.
31. I'm old enough to remember VCRs, how videogames had their own Channel 3, floppy disks, and when cellphones were basically brick-sized. Oh, and you couldn't use the internet if someone were using the phone. Wanna know something scarier? When I joined in 2009, there were regular members posting them who are dead now.
Yup. It was the same in another forum I was on. I remember taking a hiatus from that forum for a number of years, came back only to discover that one of the more renown members, someone who was quite popular in the community, had died of cancer.
