No, unfortunately, I haven't. :( Yeah, I guess we're both in the same puddle at the moment. For me it's taking care of my many house plants and working on my bead-stringing hobby that keeps me relatively sane. But my desire to write or even think up stories to write is more or less gone just now. It's actually the first time in my life I've felt this way, so I'm not sure how or whether to attempt to break out of it. Basically, I just don't give a monkeys right now.

@jannert I’m struggling with the same malady. I have several short stories that need work and I bounce around working on them, but somehow I’ve stifled myself rearranging a plot on my new novel. Now chapte4r 1 with all the fluff is chapter seven. And the title of No Retreat opens with a withdraw from the battlefield. I’ve changed the name to Raven Warriors, but can’t get that new first chapter down.

I have a dilated pore of Winer on my back.

Self-diagnosis over the internet alert, but I watch a lot of those nasty videos.

The not happy isn't that I have it, it's that it's where I can't reach or even properly see it. Mrs. A was trying to help me pop it, but then she described what it looked like and I showed her a picture of one, then she took a picture of my back and I'm pretty sure that's what it is.

I'm not happy because I'd love to bust out my home surgery kit* and try and remove it myself, but my arms just don't bend that way even if I could align a whole bunch of mirrors, Indiana Jones-style, and give myself a clear sightline.

I'm going to have to go to a doctor :(

*Do not attempt "home surgery" for this or any other medical condition, no matter how minor. Leave medicine, especially the cutty choppy slicey kind, to the professionals.

I just can't reach it. It's in a point on my back that I can just barely get one thumb tip to, and that's only because of my separated shoulder giving me more flexibility on that side. If I tried the Ka-Bar route I'd likely end up removing a kidney while hunting around for it.

Maybe if I stabbed it through the bathroom door at the right height I could do the extraction the same way I might rub an itch on a doorframe.

I have been in this position before and it suuuuucks. It was like someone had taken part of my brain away.

In the end I took myself away on a trip alone. I got the cheapest flight I could to literally anywhere (turned out that was Brussels), stayed in a hostel (last cleaned in 1997) and found myself a desk in an art studio with some friendly folks who didn't mind an interloper for five days. I was lucky that at the time I had both the time and a little money spare to do that, but if I hadn't I might have done a stay-at-home version by going to a cafe I'd never been to before three days in a row, sitting with my tools for six hours and just putting words on paper until some came together in a sentence.

I'm sure the first day I just wrote descriptions of what I could see, then made up backstories for the people I'd encountered. That started me off and I ended up starting a novel (which I am eighteen months into now).

Day to day, if I can't get started, I go for a long walk.

Everyone is so different, aren't they? I have no idea if this will be remotely helpful, but if not at least you can rule it out.

    Sending good vibes!!! :cheerleader:

And now the Coronavirus has made its' way across Homer's desk. All entertainment licenses in Providence have been suspended. All concerts, shows, and public gatherings have been cancelled. All restaurants--get this happy horseshit--can only have 100 people in them at any given time.

So, yeah, my day just got a lot longer. Not sure how I'm gonna figure this one out.

But, but...all the best home surgery vids wind up on the youtubes. :(

Honestly, with some things it is best to leave it to the professionals though. :)
(Still kinda sucks you don't get to play with your home kit.)

The virus has finely hit my small little hotel. We`re hemorrhaging business, people canceling in waves. My hours are getting cut, and probably will be for the next few months. Can use PTO to cover it somewhat...which they finally got mine fixed....on the bright side if we start running out of toilet paper at home we can all pitch in and buy a big case from the hotel's suppliers. Also with the virus being the worst for older people if they think it`s in a room whoever is the youngest gets sent in to clean because they have the least risk....soooo meeee....

Soo that situation is anxiety. I mean we`ve been bracing for this and we`ll be fine. All prepped for it, money stowed away and such. Still, causing a lot of anxiety. Today, in general, was just...lots of anxiety and worry over many things...gonna need to start trying to compartmentalise it.

Yeah, I would but it's actually causing some discomfort, that's how I noticed it. Pretty sure it's a recurring cyst that's graduated to DPOW status, I recall having a "zit" in that position a few times that hurt and I had to get my wife to pop for me. She's not keen on the task, to say the least.

There's a nearby dermatologist I might hit up, we'll see.

My wife and I both had those. I got mine looked at, got a local anesthetic and hey presto. A not unpleasant experience and a bandaid. My 8yr-old son got to watch the whole thing. Fascinated.
As opposed to my wife, who refused to go and tried herself. She ended up in urgent care and left with a golf ball-sized hole from the excavation. Yes, it was called an excavation. It was stuffed with cotton because it couldn't be closed, and I had to play nurse for six weeks. Sorry, no details. It was at her waistline, and she came home from work crying every day. :supercry:

I'm thinking I should get myself tested for coronvirus. Yesterday I had some watery stool a few hours after dinner, this morning I woke up with a slightly congested nose (which happens a lot, I usually attribute it to dust), and for the past few hours I've felt a bit warm and stuffy.

Maybe I'm being paranoid and it's just pure coincidence, but I think I'd like to be on the safe side.

Sadly I've heard that a lot of people with symptoms are getting turned away because there aren't enough tests. I doubt I'll be able to get one.

If I do have it, it's probably a mild case so I can hopefully sit tight at home until something more can be done. Assuming I have it at all and I'm not letting the paranoia get to me.

    Oh god damn it.

Just signed up for Amazon Prime (trial membership that's getting binned, see below). Tried to watch The Expanse. Season 1 is available in Japanese overdub only, Season 2 is absent entirely, Season 3 is overdub, and Season 4 is English audio, Japanese sub.

Whoever is running Netflix seems to have a good handle on what customers want. Not perfect, but good. I was able to use my login from Japan on my friend's TV in the States with nothing but an email from Netflix letting me know that there'd been an unusual access, but Amazon? It's a fucking Amazon original, how in hell do they not have all the seasons available, and why the fuck do they not have the original audio as at least an option?

That's going in the shitter as soon as the month is up.
