    Micro-Blogging Creative Content

Discussion in 'Marketing' started by Bruce James, Apr 8, 2020.

    Hello All,

It's been a while since I've been here. It seems that life has slowed a bit and I'm able to turn my attention to my love of writing again. I really should be more disciplined with it. Anyway, I have a question--hopefully this is the right forum for it.

I have in my files, many short snippets of creative/romantic content. My thought for publishing would be to produce it in a visually creative way, in microblogs such as Twitter, Instagram, etc. They would be daily publications for a brief (morning?) read. Maybe in .png format to capture the visual appeal-not sure.

Does anyone here have experience with it? I'm interested in learning about the platforms used, the formats, and also how to monetize the project. I've been collecting articles to read about it, but I thought I'd get perspectives straight from writers.

    Thank you

Hmm, I have no experience with it personally but the idea does remind me of things like asofterworld and shorteststory. You should probably check them out; get a feel if you want your content to look like that/a base on where to start. As for monetization, I can only think of two ways. Either create a website and have the website contain ads and constantly refer to the website in your social media accounts or make a book of your content, with classics and 'never before seen stories' and sell it. Don't know how much money that'll gain you or its effectiveness but that's what I've seen done from others projects like this.

I wish you the best of luck in this endeavor.

In addition to repurposing your existing content, you may want to explore the Flash Fiction format for developing new works.

Thank you, Lili...that seems to be the way I'm heading.

Thank you, Kevin. I'll explore that too.
