No thanks. I'll take whatever local beer they have over a Heineken. Barring that, any other local alcoholic concoction.

Forgot to mention that my wife made this awesome broccoli dish tonight. Never thought I'd use "broccoli" and "awesome" in the same sentence, but if you can dress up broccoli, you can dress up anything. It had chickpeas, pine nuts, and parsley in the set, with garlic, lemon zest, dijon and some oil for a sauce. Really, really fucking good.

That sounds great. Of course, I'd still feed the broccoli to the dog, but the rest of it sounds amazing :)

Well that is better than stuffing it in the chair cushion. :p

The dog would probably still end up eating it.

Cheese. And waffles. I went to Amsterdam a couple of years ago, and they had any food you wanted - as long as what you wanted was cheese or waffles.

I think it's because has is legal there, so everyone is so mashed up that they come out of the coffee shops and say whatever the Dutch equivalent is of "Man, I need to eat cheese", or "Waffle time!

Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens
Bright copper kettles and warm woolen mittens
Brown paper packages tied up with strings
These are a few of my favorite things

Raindrops on roses and cheddar on waffles,
Stuff your Yank burgers and French dish with offals,
Ice cream and syrup with mayo on fries,
Are things that the Dutch call culinary prize...

My belief, dealing in stereotypes here, was that the Dutch were ‘rationalist,’ if there is such a thing & socially conservative by & large, Protestant, hooray.

There’s a family story about Scottish IT guys arriving at Amro...and the populace horrified at:

    ‘Tha svearing..!’

    ‘Even da wimin...’

    And that’s why I don’t like @jannert

Tonight it will probably be veggie stuff. Rice, plus a broccoli mix with cauliflower and carrots or something. If roomie wants meat, he can have some leftover ham.

I might make myself a couple of cheese dogs. Maybe with bacon. Yum.

My late father loved Henkins, rarely drank beer but when he did that`s the only one he would. I`ve tried to do it a couple of times, it`s just not for me. Though the only beer I can really do is light beers so maybe I`m not one to be talking. Did want to grab a Heineken at a local Irish bar along with a Hot Scottsmen sandwich (His father was Irish, mother a 2nd gen Scottish. Leaned more into the Scottish side being raised by his grandfather...and hating his dad) as a testament to the man for his birthday in late March but well...that didn`t happen

All this broccoli hate, the stuff is great. Don`t even need to be dressed up just cook it a bit and eat it in one big bowl like popcorn. Yum Yum.

Should have a broccoli and mac and cheese night coming up. Saw a recipe for a mac and cheese casserole with broccoli would try it if my oven wasn`t on the verge of spewing flame out into the house...really need a new one.

See the squirrel knows the power of the mini trees!

No meal plan yet, yesterday ended up ordering a chicken taco and some veggie pizza which made for tonight's meal. Should be just enough left over for tomorrow's breakfast.

Cash, sex, drugs, and anything else that would make someone do shit they normally wouldn't to get some. Neighbors down the hall are already knocking at the door. People driving by the crib with their windows down are slowing to investigate. Gonna need some crowd control before sundown when the real crazies come out.

ETA: and if the city wasn't sold out of basil, DEM would be shutting me down

Just because it's been done before doesn't negate that you arrived at a great leap of thought independently. Happens to me like 7 times a day.
