Hi there. This is totally serious. I am on a quest to see if I can revive the popularity of the once mega popular name Gary and I am chronicling these efforts for a book. According to official stats, the name is dying out and could be in danger of extinction. A modern trend I have noticed is young parents naming children after favourite characters in pop fiction. I was wondering if anyone here would accept the challenge to name the protagonist of their story or script Gary? Ideally, he would be a heroic, decent character! It would be an interesting experiment to see if having more 'cool' Garys in pop culture could lead to a resurgence in popularity for the name. What do you think? Are you brave enough? Cheers!
Interesting. I wasn’t aware that this name was dying out. You learn something new every day. I like the idea. It works rather well as a creative writing prompt. We’ve had writing prompts of all sorts but nothing at all specific to a name. Let’s keep this endangered name under conservation. Challenge proposed! Who will accept??
