I seriously can't motivate myself to finish The Divine Comedy. Inferno was great because it considered some interesting ethics and the imagery was morbid and neat, but Purgatorio is fairly boring. Considering just shelving it and picking it up some day I give a shit (like for a plane ride). I have like six other books on my list which are all the more interesting. Although, this would constitute two books in a row that I didn't read to the end, which might be a problem.

I kid you not, I actually did that once. At university, I was doing a Music Technology degree, and we had to do an assignment (resulting in a small show) to give examples of how soundwaves can change due to circumstance.
Me and my mate got caught up in real life drunken shenanigans that week, and didn't give ourselves enough time to do something fancy like all the other students...

...so we bought two fish and slapped each other in the face, on stage, while we sung "The Bare Necessities" from the Jungle Book ... to prove how circumstances can alter the soundwaves of our voice.
The drama students from next door were bored stiff until we came on stage, so it won me a lot of friends.
It also won me a lot of enemies on the 40 minute train ride home, I reeked of haddock, and must have stunk up the entire carriage.

I believe the exact word he used was "inventive." :superlaugh:

Unsurprisingly, I -think- that was the only part of my course I didn't get a distinction on.

Had an idea for a sci-fi location. Basically a ring of water around a planet which is close enough to the sun that it doesn't freeze, but far enough it doesn't evaporate, and there's some crazy ocean creatures living in there or something. Thought it would be cool for some neo-Vernes type adventure.

Give Roger Corman $50k and some actresses who aren't shy about taking their shirts off and he'll bring back five million in direct to DVD sales.

Throughout the day we use the 60in as a digital picture frame. I keep a running slideshow of some of CT's posts. I will be hitting pause on this for a while, it'll drive the wifey crazy! :D

If olive oil comes from pressed olives, and linseed oil comes from boiled linseeds, where does baby oil come from? :bigeek:

Would it be like a cottage industry or mass production?

I also always wondered why motor oil is so cheap considering how expensive engines are.

If time flies when we're having fun, and slows down when we're not...

Then is the reason the good people seem to die so quickly...because we were having fun with them?

I devised a quick psychopath test.

Ask an individual if they would rather kill their mom, or the entire world population.

If they answer "The world. I already killed my mom," then you've got a psycho.

That statement they always come out with makes me laugh so hard, each and every time.

They can accept pictures of Mars, because they can see it through a telescope, but pictures of Earth from a spacecraft or satellite dont count?
Every satellite and spacecraft that ever left the earth is a conspiracy propaganda tool *shakes fists* Crafty humans!

I also love their other reason - its a UN conspiracy... despite ancient sea voyage explorers first proved it before there was a United Nations...
Why would the middle-age English, Portugese, Spanish and Dutch sea farers all agree if we hated each other and kept blowing our ships up? You'd think there'd be SOME historical record of "THAT FERDINAND MAGELLAN BLOKE WAS A TOTAL TOSSPOT! We followed his instructions and ended up in Antarctica, not America!"
Oh wait, they probably did,... but the UN covered it up.

There's so much evidence against the Earth being flat that I wonder if the Flat Earth movement itself isn't a conspiracy. What are they hiding?
