Turns out I'm not having a heart attack and it was just acid. So happy. I was in A&E yesterday on the advice of 111 having tests and X-rays. I'm surprised my lungs are clear too, to be honest, given I'm a smoker. For over a week I've been fearing heart disease or heart attack. My liver is fine, my heart is fine, my lungs are fine, even my kidneys are fine (another surprise); YAYA. I'm also surprised that I haven't got high blood pressure, tbh. I just assumed I had high blood pressure for a year now. Took these meds they gave me, my chest is feeling fine. I'm on these meds for 7 days.
So far it's been a good day. Youngest niece drew me a terrible picture, so I have to hang it up on the fridge. She'll be spending the week with me. My former brother-in-law is also coming over to chill out and talk. Can't drink or anything with the rugrat around, but it'll be good to talk.
This homeowner shit is pretty nice. So far the biggest thing I've had to worry about is poison ivy and that's easily removed.im enjoying the yardwork projects and have a big one planned for after I clear out the remaining bushes from the front. Gonna make a little patio area. Maybe put a swing out there.
I don't have a smartphone anymore. I haven't had one for at least a couple weeks now. I was just tired of it. Now, there's no more checking emails the moment I get them, even when they're not important, no more mindless scrolling though social media, no more looking at stupid things to buy that I don't need to waste my money on from the internet. My computer is my hub for being connected to the internet, and it feels freeing. I doubt anyone around me really understands why I did it, but that's okay. It's possible to disconnect from that stuff, everyone. If you feel like you need to, definitely do it.
I just received a grant that cuts my semester bill by 30%! Still have potential scholarships too! Yay!
Congrats @Historical Science! That's big time good news. Sold entertainment center (after a Facebook Marketplace debacle that didn't pan out either). Made back a chunk of the money I've lost in my latest failure of a project. Got the couch leg back. Living room is almost back to a state of normal; just waiting on a couple cushions. Rainy-day coin-fund came in handy. Glad my dad taught me to save. Roommate felt bad that everything backfired on me, so he's going to buy a TV stand. Today I discovered my driver-side door doesn't open from the inside. A family member just so happens to have the part to fix it, and knows how to fix it (he had the same car as me). Getting that solved tomorrow. Stupid salesman didn't tell me this entertainment center was haunted—no, worse, cursed. Cheapskate... Other good news includes Weathering With You announcements. The anime is coming out in dub *and* sub in September. Pre-orders will probably start a month or two in advance. Collector's edition info soon to be announced.
After about two months of screwed up sleep, I went to bed at around ten last night and woke up at six-thirty this morning well rested so I`m happy with that. Here`s hoping I can repeat it.
I had a story published in an anthology last year and the collection as a whole just won a Colorado Book Award. I guess I'm an award-winning writer now?
Yo yo yo peeps! I'm back in action. Took a longer-than-intended hiatus. Had a baby. Was in quarantine with 3 kids and said baby. No quiet time! Was on maternity leave and got LAZY. Back at work now and things are quiet(ish) at work so have time to write again, so maybe I will finally finish this novel!!!
Today feels like it'll be an easy, simple day. The hardest part about it will be convincing my mother to have something not Midwestern for dinner. Time to mow the lawn and weed some shit! Yeah!
Kind of a bittersweet one: My baby sister graduated highschool (virtually because of this whole pandemic thing) and had a mini graduation celebration. Happy for her; i wish i could have been there to celebrate with her.
Went up north for a few days; had a lot of fun. Maybe too much. Had spotty internet so I have some catching up to do. But anyway, spent all day building an entertainment center and mounting the TV. I am SO freaking happy with how this turned out. Finally this project is done. Never give up. Thanks to all who have tolerated me ranting about this. I'll post a low light, drunk, low resolution picture later. Here's this for now, for your troubles.
From 1988 to 2020. From Melbourne, FL, across to Europe, across to Asia, back to Florida where it sat quietly in a drawer until someone from my past came across it and thought to send it on the last leg of its peregrination.
Had a video call with the group tonight, and we're booked in for next week as well. But the very good news is that she's looking to bring us back in person. It will be nice being in a room with others again, even if we're sat around the edges of the room.
I have a former stepbrother I'm still relatively friends with and his youngest daughter has a brain tumor. They've been through some awful, long treatments, but they just found out that the tumor is stable, so the treatments have been working. This is some brightness and hope restoration for her whole family and I'm going to keep hoping for the best for them.
A ladybug found it's way into my bedroom! Caught it flying by the lamp that shouldn't be on...eh. Now I have a new pet until the rain dies down and it's free to go.
^ What I got is these guys: ... Brown Marmorated stink bugs. They're all up in the house and outside.
