Well..... What would you prefer to see in place of the sequels? I personally would have liked for more stand-alone star wars films but I assume the studios wanted proven characters like Luke Skywalker and Han Solo in the films other than new actors like Daisy Ridey who might not be able to carry the Star Wars franchise. I didn't mind Solo: A Star Wars story but it seems most people didn't care for it. Sigh. I liked the fact it explained the relationship between Solo and Chewbacca plus how he got his awesome ship. Speaking of, have you seen the $899 Lego Star Wars model of the ship?! SWEET!!!
Any of the Halloween sequels (2018 may be good though, need to watch it.) Escape from LA Gotta pile on The Last Jedi Alien 3
Original poster is banned, so this is kind of like eulogizing at a funeral. I shall speak solemnly over the corpse . . . "The Exorcist II: The Heretic" is the worst thing ever filmed. It is stupid beyond words. I want to put a bicycle helmet on its head and feed it applesauce.
I just watched the third installment of Jumanji. The second wasn’t unwatchable, the third didn’t need to be made, and it ended with a strong hint of a fourth on the way.
I have seen it, but that’s a movie that shouldn’t have been made at all. I don’t know if anyone considered a sequel. Another part deux, that never should have been made.... Blues Brothers 2000.
It's an utter and TOTAL disgrace that we're on the second page and no one has mentioned the word "Terminator." hehe UTTER DISGRACE, I SAY! If there is one movie franchise that deserves to burn in the fires of hell for taking a story beyond its final chapter, it's that. T1 "You cant change the future." T2 "Oh yes you can, our future isn't written. Here, Skynet, die in a pit of molten fire." James Cameron : "Story arc COMPLETE!" .............. Movie Exec : "..........Oh, actually, it is written, and it will keep on being written and will keep on happening because Hollywood executives need exorbitant amounts of money, and must pump out more movies." Everything after Terminator 2 should die in the same pit of molten lava that they chucked Arnie, the chip and that arm into. This is why I have immense love for Robert Zemekis and the other guy who own the rights to Back to the Future, and refuse to let Hollywood reboot it or make more sequels. I read that they keep getting offers of more money each year, and they keep sending them back, saying "We have money, we dont need it, our story was complete. That's why we put 'THE END' on the final film." Two blokes with actual integrity. A rare breed.
Not a sequel but the third Mad Max movie the Thunder dome was absolutely horrendous. Anything after the first Never ending story was garbage. All the films that came after The Crow were painful. Die Hard II was pants. Especially the last line of the movie. Complete psychopath. Again not a sequel but Robocop III was cringe And probably every tv series after the 2nd season turns out to be utter nonsense. Dexter/Breaking Bad /Xfiles etc. Good thread I like it.
Atlantis: The Lost Empire. Disney admitted the sequel was in fact three episodes from a planned series they scrapped mid-development due to the less-than-stellar success of the original Atlantis.
Not sure if this thread is for sequels that just sucked, or shouldn't have been made out of respect or for artistic reasons. Abelar: Tales of an Ancient Empire (sort of a sequel to 'Sword and the Sorcerer') is probably the worst movie I've ever seen where I could actually recognize multiple actors. As I kid, I enjoyed 'Conan the Destroyer', but maybe that shouldn't have been made either.
Yeah, the sequel. Andre the Giant played the horned monster (Dagoth, I think). It just doesn't compare to Conan the Barbarian.
I thought it was better than Temple of Doom, though I haven't gone back and rewatched that one recently.
That third Jurassic Park movie was shit. That latest Jurassic World though, I cried during a certain scene. That movie can kick rocks!
I thought that Solo was OK, though it was very forgettable. It's the first Star Wars movie I didn't see at the cinema. I think a lot of its problems came from being the follow-up to The Last Jedi. Anyway, my choice for a sequel that should never have been made was Highlander 2. Not only was it poor, but that is one film that should never have had a sequel given the story.
