Woke up on time this morning. Baby (5 months) cried, so I sat down in the comfy chair to feed him. Next thing I know, it's an hour later and I'm 10 min late for work, still in my jammies with nothing ready. Now here I am at work, 45 minutes late and I don't even think I'm really awake yet. Plus I'm not even sure when that dodgy leftover spaghetti I grabbed for lunch was made, but that was all we had this morning. Can we start this day over? I don't like this version.
And then what? Day 11 it gains sentience and walks out of the fridge and commits to a smear campaign on your clean kitchen?
Remind me to make you a baked ziti if you ever come stateside. Mass ain't critical, but it comes damn near.
Just found this line. Really liked it. Analyzing humor is like dissecting a frog. Few people are interested and the frog dies of it. E. B. WHITE
I'm livid. I tried to leave my apartment building and when the elevator opened, two teenagers (a resident and her friend) were on it maskless. I decided not to enter and they cursed at me. When I left, I told the security guard at the front door what happened and he was less than helpful even though there are security cameras in the elevator and the building and there are "wear your mask" signs EVERYWHERE. I confronted them outside where they were loitering but one of the teens (the overbearing personality) threatened to have her mother sue me. The friend was sullen but eventually apologized while the other called to compain to her mother. I don't care if they don't want to wear a mask outside, but to not wear a mask in the elevator or to the communal laundry room is so dangerous, especially since the majority of people in my building are seniors and have to take the elevator and use the laundry room. These places are used by lots of people and have no ventilation. It's also a mandate to wear masks in my state. Well, I'll try not to think about it anymore. If they both end up bringing Covid-19 back to their families it'll be karma.
My mummy is going to sue you ... must be a hard kid if he runs to mummy as soon as someone speaks to him
We can only hope that one day there will be a reckoning that separates the entitled from the self-motivated. I'm picturing a rapture style event. Only instead of a hole in the sky it will be a Lovecraftian cosmic bulldozer. And upon the bones of douchebags we will erect a better tomorrow.
I'm not sure this applies when the aggressor is threatening to 'sue'... you know, as opposed to 'kick your face off'.
We have signs and a 6 foot tall infographic telling people to wear masks. But we still get kickback: "its a SUGGESTION not the LAW to wear a mask. So i dont have to"...... And thats that. Cant tell them to leave. Can only SUGGEST they wear it and offer alternative options. If they decline.... Oh well, leave them alone (which sucks). @edamame , i wouldnt try to police it yourself. They may not hurt you, but people are losing their jobs over such confrontations
you can tell them to leave (well your boss can) private premises can make whatever rule they wish for access (with the exception of those that break equality law)
