Male and Female Writing Styles and Character Voices

    I suspect it tends to work like that; a more masculine person will often hook up with a more feminine one, regardless of which is male or female, or even if they're both the same gender. It seems like 2 feminines together would be a bit too passive, and 2 masculines might fight too much. I mean, I'm sure that happens too, but I think it often doesn't work out as well. My mom and dad were both very masculine, and it's a wonder they didn't kill each other before they split. But a masculine and a feminine (assuming they get along well) can fit together like 2 puzzle pieces made for each other.

    Both of my parents were quite masculine, which meant that they had problems getting along with one another. My older brother was the tallest and biggest member of the family by far. I was the only “feminine” person in the house, so it was an interesting dynamic for me to keep my hair long; wear hosiery and skirts at home and at school; collect stuffed animals etc. Most everyone I knew didn't know what to think of me.
