As the title suggests, I'm new here. I haven't written anything for awhile. I don't have much to do nowadays, so I figured I'd try to become a better writer. I was a member of a poetry forum, but it's been about 6 or 7 years since I was active there & unfortunately the site isn't what it used to be. Anywhosles, I mainly wrote poetry way back when, and I've had ideas for story settings, creatures & world mechanics over the years, but I haven't done anything beyond writing down the idea. Most of my story ideas are in the Sci-Fi, Fantasy & Sci-Fi/Fantasy genres, but I'm not limiting myself to just that. As for the poems I've written, they're what you'd expect from an angsty, slightly depressed teen/young adult amateur, but I'd still like to work on trying to make them better. I think that covers everything, so we'll just have to see how it goes, I guess.
You've come to the write place. Familiarize yourself with the FAQs; as for sharing your work, the only rule is to leave two pieces of feedback+critique before sharing one of your own. Looking forward to seeing your work. I'm alright with sharing the unofficial title of angsty young adult with somebody. It's a lot of responsibility for one person. The town's plenty big enough. Enjoy your stay. See you around!
One of us, one of us, one of us,.... er... I mean... YEY, another scifi/fantasy fan! If you choose to post your work on the forums when you're eligible, I guarantee one set of eyes will be looking over it Welcome to the forums, @.Nameless. !
I know this will come off weird, but it's nice to get instant gratification when posting online. Even though I'm a Millennial, I've never really gotten into the whole internet-culture thing. On top of that, the few forums I've been on have usually had a response-time of a few hours or days. Imaginary brownies for everybody!
Well, plus a certain amount of time on the board—I think it's 2 weeks? And a certain number of posts. I can never remember the specifics. 20 maybe? THEN you can post to the Workshop. Till then, hang around, talk shop, start absorbing the vast amount of information that's all around you. And have fun.
