    He peered into the darkness. Nothing. Step by step he cautiously made his way to the end, listening to the distant waves crash on the rocks. He could still smell the sea. He ran one hand along the damp rocky wall, keeping an eye out ahead. He was confused, nothing had shown itself, maybe he brought his sword for nothing. But then he heard something... a faint, low hiss coming from behind him. He turned around, seeing nothing but shadows. And then... eyes.

    The wind whipped her hair as she stood atop the cliff. The rocky spikes at the bottom seemed very close... she just had to jump. She was breathing fast, counting down until her last breath. 5, 4, 3, 2...

    ‘Don’t do it,’ he whispered from behind.

    He stared down at the bodies, then at the girl barely covered in blood. Her gaze met his and her eyes, full of fire, narrowed as she stood up.

    ‘You’re late.’

    ‘I love you,’ he whispered.

    ‘Aw, I love you too.’

    ‘No, I’m in love with you.’

    She scanned the page quickly, taking in as much information before the test. Her alarm clock beeped and she hurried to log on her computer. PRESS START it read. She took a deep breath and pressed.

    an hour later

    She stared at the number on the screen. 13% FAIL it read.
