A compass, perhaps a moral one. Maybe I have trouble finding my way? Or maybe the way has trouble finding me?
Alex Ross' depiction of Starfire. I love her and her pupil-less eyes... love how big they used to draw her hair.. love Alex Ross' gorgeous art style... and comics are actually what sparked my love of writing, so it's fitting in a way.
One of my bears I drew for Inktober last year. My bear doesn't actually look this worn; I roughed him up a little.
Ah well, this is my second time changing my pfp, but I like this one so it's a winner. It's cuz I see myself as an angel when no one else around me does, and well I like art that has deep meanings.
I love the gentle intimacy of the picture and reminds me of several things, many personal. The image is a promotional still for Wim Wenders 2000 film, The Million Dollar Hotel. An admittedly rubbish film that I'm a huge fan of and feel a strange connection to... because there are enough captivating moments in between the woeful plot that make me put it on when I'm feeling shit, get drunk and get lost in the connection between the two main characters.
I change my profile picture to reflect how i look. When I had locs, my profile picture was a cartoon creation that had locs. When i combed them out and had my hair long and curly, i reflected that. I cut my hair yesterday (its about an inch or 2 long and super curly). I'd imagined that if I straightened my short curls, it would be the length and look of this new profile picture. tapered sides, full on top. yeah, im liking my haircut lol. @Homer Potvin , my hats actually fit BETTER now
I mostly wear CasIsDead merchandise, that being my hoodie. He was the first UK rapper to say whatever he wanted behind a mask in such a macabre manner (I know, MF DOOM is British), begging the question of whether or not he was being literal in what he was saying. I put something in the workshop about how intricate his lyricism is and how he is the concept of an artist rather than a concept artist. These days, UK rap is filled with drill, where actual criminals/gangs or fakers rap in advocacy of violent, immoral bullshit lacking substance whilst hidden behind masks. It's funny, really. CAS inadvertently pioneered the complete opposite of what he represented. A lot of them have ended up much more successful, too. But the majority of the genre's audience don't have all that much insight... I should probably add that not all hope is lost there though, he's been signed to XL Recordings and has barely dropped anything in the last five years. Very elusive character.
