    Usage of Paladin

Discussion in 'Word Mechanics' started by 31152104, Sep 28, 2020.

quick query, how would you suggest one capitilize the word paladin in a fantasy setting?

The client alternates between <Paladin> and Paladin, as the text is game-like in nature.

I'm gonna remove the brackets, just want to ask old hands whether constant capitalization, as in 'The Paladin's armor' is the way to go. I don't see problems with "It was a brave attempt by the paladin."

what is the general norm here?

    thanks.

"paladin" is a general name for a class or profession. "Paladin" is a title.

If there's one only Paladin, capitalise it. If there are many, don't capitalise it.

He is a dark lord vs he is the Dark Lord.

Sure thing, thanks for the swift response, suspected as much and will alter the pieces accordingly.
