Hey y'all, I'm an early 30's mother and housewife who is finishing her MA in TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Langauges). I'm writing several pieces including my thesis, several memoir flash non fictions, and some argumentative essays in the fields of education and cultural studies. I'm here for feedback, of course, but to also give it too, happily. I'd love to make some writer mom friends, or anyone interested in being writing buddies here on the forum or through email. My writing goals: Revise Thesis Develop Community Project Revise Memoirs Learn more about self publishing Happy to be here with you all!
Excellent, another EFL teacher! I've been teaching in Japan for almost 20 years now. No special credentials (cough, cough) but experience sufficient for my employers. Do you plan on teaching in the US, or are you going to head out into the great wide world of "furriners"
Glad to have you on board! Welcome to the forums. It's always a pleasure having those a bit more experienced in writing come on the forums not only to get a little help from some friendly eyes, but also to give out a few suggestions as well. I'm sure you'll fit in here well.
Great to meet you. Wow! 20 years in Japan teaching English, I bet you have some stories! Right now I'm just doing some GA tutoring work. I do hope that it opens doors to traveling. I feel myself leaning more towards cultural studies. I have some ideas for community-based culturally-centered language learning right here in Louisiana. I'm always talking about (in my writing) grappling with wanting to stay and wanting to go and see...
Thank you. Nice to be here. I found you guys because I thought I wonder if there's live chat writing workshops yet. Excited to contribute to the community!
Hey there fellow newbie! I came to the forum recently with goals similar to yours, and would love to share some high-level writing talk sometime! I graduated a couple years ago with my MA in Creative Writing where I drafted a novel for my thesis, and work both freelance with independent writers and at a publishing house as an editor. I'd be more than happy to lend an extra set of eyes to your shorts and essays, if you'd like to chat with a 20-something mother to various feather and furbabies! Best wishes
Thanks! That'd be awesome. And yes, who among us couldn't use an extra set of eyes, hands, and feet, not to mention a few more hours in the day... XD
