With everything 2020 has thrown at us and as long as the year has been, it's still a little surprising to realize we're entering October next week.

I can relate to the introvert habit, I'm a ambivert who leans introverted. I've got a few books I sometimes read once a year- like Tailchaser's Song. It's a good one. Movies and TV on the other hand, yeah, watch and rewatch.. and watch again. How many times have I watched Stargate SG-1 or Atlantis? Once a year.

Hold on, you've linked to something there that proves I'm right.

None of those examples use 'bring' in the way I described it being used in Friends, i.e. "I'm going to John's birthday party tomorrow. What do you think I should bring him as a present?"

The only one of those that comes close is the third B from the 'Bring' list of examples, but that's because the speaker is speaking with the person to whom he will be taking it.

As I said in an earlier post, the doer takes. Bring is what the receiver requests.

I think you are right--I thought about it some more and I realized that I would never use "bring" that way.

I'm sat here eating a tangerine and wondering about early man and how the very first homo sapien reached adulthood and came into being. There must have been a point at which Australopithecus gave birth to an Erectus, and an Erectus to a Sapien. Is that how it worked?

On a walk this morning. It's 63 degrees.

Kind of spooky to think this is probably the last time we'll have these temps at this time of day until late spring.

Last night I dreamt I moved to Glasgow and had to register my citizenship at this huge social benefits type place. I was crapping myself because it was crawling with hundreds of Trainspotting types who would be able to tell I was English just by looking at me.

I think I need to stop reading that book. It really is quite an unpleasant experience.

Had a dream the other night that I was running cooked lobsters over with a riding mower. Claw and knuckle meat all over the place. No flipping clue how to interpret that.

Pond to plate they call it. They got a catchy phrase for everything now. I want to punch all food bloggers in the schlong/snooge.

Is there anyone who actually pores over the ballot and researches the candidates for posts like state college trustee or drain commissioner?

Didn't they have some horrific meth-head swamp murders a couple month ago?

The ones that get me are the judgeship retention questions. Unless a judge is doing a spectacularly bad job, I don't see why we need to vote on whether they keep that job or not every... When's the last time this person was on a ballot for retention anyway?

Throw the bums out, sez I!

Two muffins were sitting in an oven. One turned to the other and said "It's pretty hot in here, isn't it?" The other turned and screamed "Oh my god a talking muffin!"

I recall the line "as leaves before the wild hurricane fly" every blasted time I use my leaf blower. Thanks for the earworm, Clement.

I think the best thing I can do for my students' minds is to put my body on the treadmill for an hour or so. I haven't been out of this chair for a week.

    Off to the gym!

Living in the rusted-out shell of an old school bus doesn't necessarily certify you to home-school your kids.
