Things That Annoy Me, But Shouldn't

They usually do that by setting a, um, cookie. Do you have a setting in your browser that blocks them?

 

The one that gets me is "We accept your privacy... (so please give us the right to invade it by accepting our cookies)"

 

Tha fact that Hollywood has forgotten that broadsheet newspapers used to be on column wider on each side. Nothing like seeing a 2010 newspaper format in Mad Men.

I hear it's worse for people who are knowledgeable about fonts.

 

The memes meant to portray oneself as "Sexy and Sassy, but also, I'll murder you in your sleep if you mess with me."

I am annoyed that I am shit at communicating with basically everyone in the world.

 

I really hate the sensation of being followed. Like, even if I know 100% that the person is not actually following me and just going in the same direction, it drives me up the wall.

 

Wtf? I need a specimen.

 

Btw... You know that you can always erase your cookies... no?

 

Any packaging that requires tools to open. How hard is it to include a pull tab or tear strip?

Don't get me started on clamshell packaging.

Just realized that was pretty much the plot of The Sentinel on a larger level.

 

The more-likely occurrence comes last, after the 'much less', not the less-likely:

"She can't carry a tune, much less sing an aria."

I've seen it the other way around several times lately, and I hope this isn't going to be one of those cases where the error becomes the rule, like cliche as an adjective or 'sooner than later' instead of 'sooner rather than later' or 'the proof is in the pudding', instead of 'the proof of the pudding is in the eating'.

 

But I like cake.

Even when there is a pull tab it’s either too difficult to pull or it fails. Microwave meals are the worst. You pull the little corner tab of cellophane that isn’t attached to the container, and it peels off around the edge only, leaving the contents still covered and you resort to using a knife.

 

One of the worst packages I've ever had to get into was a blister pack containing electric scissors we bought my mom for getting into stubborn blister pack packaging.

 

I remember this start-up inventing a special pair of scissors specifically to open stubborn plastic packages ... which was sold in a stubborn plastic package ...
