    What compels you to write?
    Any random thought.

    Why do you write?
Because sometimes I read books, watch movies or play games and go, "Oh! This-or-that should happen now!" and it doesn't.
So now I write for an audience of exactly one and I must admit, it simplifies things a bit.

What makes you write what you write?
In this case, I was traveling from space station to space station in Rogue Galaxy, trying to make a few bucks for a new space ship. The mind wanders during those light speed intervals and a science fiction story about some sort of space trucking started forming. That evolved, devolved and reshaped itself into what I can only, somewhat reluctantly, describe as present day porn.

What Made you decide you liked to write?
Superficially: With all the media and options to create worlds out there, writing is the only one I could do. I mean, I already knew how to put words in order. It didn't look like I was going to learn how to put code in order, I tried. Wasn't pretty. Remember what happened to the baboon in The Fly?
Digging deeper: Coping with the powerlessness to do anything about a world that changes faster than I can keep up with in a direction I don't much care for. At least the worlds, universes or characters I create do exactly what I want them to do. Mostly.

    What Do You Write?
Up until now, short stories. Erotica, fan-fiction (sci-fi). Tried my hand at a little poetry, didn't suit me. Wrote some songs, maybe that counts as poetry too.
Now working on a beast I'm trying to wrangle into novel-shape. Currently, as said before, mainly pornographic in nature, but I suspect the end result will have a decidedly lower nipple count.

Well it is frustrating to a certain extent, however what keeps me going is that after I finish I do a voice-over of the reading of the product which is something that I love doing, so I take the "bad" with the good. I learned that you cannot live life with only the things you like but you can make some compromises in a way where the "bad" becomes more bearable :)

According to the list of actions it looks like @Wreybies moved it from GW back in 2017 during the great bucket empty... why it wound up in settings your guess is good as mine... you're right that this isnt the right place for it, so although it goes against the grain i shall grit my teeth and move it back to GW

One or two wonky thread-moves out of upwards of 20k threads that originally glutted the General Writing subforum while other areas were hardly touched.

I'm cool with that result. ;)

especially as we are down to sub 700 from the original 20k ... i am slightly concerned that we might summon the unmentionable one (joe sixpack) with the current number :D

Because its my hoppy. I just love it. I love writing. I like to write. Writing is like swimming. The more I write, the more I enjoy it. The more I write, the more ideas and topics I got to write about. For me, its the best way to express my feeling and though. On the other hand, writing help me think in a logic way. It helps me to sort out my ideas in order to think in the most logical way.

    1. Nothing compells me to write. I don’t need motivation to write. I write just because I love writing.

    2. Why don’t I write. I don’t see why people don’t write. Writing helps us think in a more logical ways. It helps us sort out our ideas and come up with new ideas about any topic that going on in out minds.

    3. I get new ideas about different aspects of live. Writing about different aspect of life help me better understand life and better understan myself as well.

    4. I never decided I want to like writing. In fact, I just found that I love writing. Every time I write I feels happy regardless of what I write about. Writing brings happiness to my life. Why don’t I like writing. why dont I write.

    5. Cultures. diversity. languages. Traveling. Happiness. Self-development . Characters analysis. Life style.

Writing is a beautiful and creative free-distraction way of expressing feelings and thoughts. Unlike, speaking, where there is who might disagrees with us, interrupts us, or even misunderstoods us before we finish talking. In writing, we have a free way completely where we express our feelings and thoughts till we finish. writing is like painting where pen is the brush and words are the colors (where choosing the suitable word is like choosing the suitable color). At the end of the day, it ends up with drawing a beautiful piece of a picture. Ooh sorry, it ends up with writing a beautiful piece of a writing.

Writing is like painting. Why painters draw? Becuase they like painting. Similarly, why I write? Simply, because I love writing. It's something I enjoy a lot. It's a amart way for expressing thoughts and releasing feelings. That's not just why I write. That’s why I write a lot. However, do we need to have reasons for why we write? I don't think so, writing isn't something I do to get credits for it. Writing is something I do for enjoyment.
