There are currently not one, but two porn performers (one gay, one str8) operating under the amazingly creative name of "Ben Dover".
I'm originally from a village called Wendover in Buckinghamshire... one of our two claims to fame is that sometime in the 80s a local MP was caught cottaging in the car park toilets... the Sun headline was "Bend Over Wendover" (the other claim to fame is that much earlier in history our MP kinda started the English Civil War https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Hampden )
Fat Albert and the Cosby Kids was the first animated TV series to focus on original Black characters. Source: https://www.vulture.com/article/most-influential-best-scenes-animation-history.html
Straight one has been around for a bit. Kind of old now. I could elucidate on how he earned his name but I won't. We got kids in the audience, you know?
Tom Brady's first NFL contract was for 3 years, for $864,000 with a $38,400 signing bonus ('course, he was drafted 199th overall).
I wish you wouldn't talk about Brady while I watch his team demolish my self-destructing Green Bay Packers.
Genghis Khan slept with so many women that approximately .5% of today's population are his direct descendents.
TIL that in 1967 a film called Twist of the Knife was being filmed when a stuntman was actually attacked by a shark that wasn't properly sedated. Rather than do the reasonable and decent thing, the marketing team put this in the film. They even changed the name of the film to "Shark" and put depictions of the death in promotional material. The director wanted his name taken off the film for this astonishing display of callousness, but they left it on. They even released a new cut in the 70's to capitalise on the success of Jaws. FFS
The reason American cowboy hats have their brims turned up on the sides, thus reducing their sun protection, is to prevent them from interfering with the cowboy's arm as he swings the lasso over his head.
TIL that there is a kind of silk called ahimsa silk using wild silk moths where they allow the silk worms to finish pupating and don't kill them (normal silk they boil them alive, YIKES). Because it takes longer to wait and you get less silk when they break out of the cocoons it does cost around twice as much. But if you can afford it, it does seem like ahimsa silk is the more ethical option. You can get men's shirts around $66-159 AUD which isn't too bad, from a brief look at going items. Rayon is also made from biodegradable wood-fibres and is cheaper than silk anyway. So also that. Polyester is made using coal and petroleum, so while it's hard to avoid as a material given it's common use, it is not really a better alternative to silk other than maybe price. Cotton is also biodegradable, slightly less than rayon actually but still better than polyester. And there are some producers who try to produce cotton more ethically and sustainably, like if you are in Australia this one; https://www.politix.com.au/ Likewise linen is a natural fibre so also potentially good, depending on the producer.

I saw the 1970s release when it first came out. 'More Bites Than Jaws!' was the big promotoional blurb. It sucked so bad that I walked out of the theater - the one and only time I did that. Didn't know the facts behind it.
Maddy, just to let you know the forum has an option to quote (you can include multiple people's posts) or reply (just the one, as I'm doing now) that will let them know you mentioned them. On their post, use either the quote or reply buttons down in the lower right corner:
Thank you Lian. I looked for the reply button, but didn't see it. Now I see that it's BELOW the signature line (like yours). I'll remember to watch for that. Oops. The quote thingy is still a mystery to me. I click it and it says 'Message added to the multi-qoute' then nothing happens. I'm a bit slow at these things, so I will eventually sort it out.
