Too much information is when I record my failures and post them in the Tavern's Member's Members Picture Gallery.

I'm never too old to learn, am I? It appears to be a quilt with frog-coloured spots all over it.

Tmw you are writing a blog post on Black Science Fiction and Fantasy, and in your research you find that one of the most prominent writers if that genre graduated from your university.... But absolutely NOWHERE is it mentioned on your school's "famous alumni" page OR included in information about your school's MFA and English Literature program :supershock:

its what the american forces call their poncho liners (Like a camo duvet basically)... they get very attached to their woobies and often steal them when they leave the forces (the name comes from Charlie Brown, its what Linus calls his blanket that he takes everywhere)

Spoliers because girls in bikinis and a certain amount of language (its a BRCC video so if you watch it youve been warned)

TMW your job is trying something new and you are the guinea pig :supercool:

Took me an hour to do it (30 mins longer than what was outlined)... few challenges... but so far, so good!

TMW an online article makes use of the metaphorical phrase "acid test" and within five (5) responses, the comments section has devolved into a genuine argument about there being no acid, no test, fake news, and exactly zero hope of the conversation getting back on track.

That moment when your not-quite-deceased light bulb is making a whiny annoying buzzing noise and it sounds like your protagonist's dragonfly nagging you to hurry up and save him.

Chill out, mate. You already know he's still alive at the end of the book.

Obviously. My observation was more about how a single metaphor that went over someone's head gave rise to an entire thread-full of utter and total non-sequitur. One would think that someone would have corrected the error at some point, likely giving rise to a different area of burning chaparral, but no, the error stayed on track. It was fascinating.

essentially unmoderated areas of the internet are always swamps... a while back i was watching a demo ranch video about tanks, and of 400 plus comments over 200 of them were about whether Alex Zedra was hot for Matt, and whether he boned her etc... then someone pointed out that Matt's wife Mere is pretty good looking too, cue another 100 comments about who has the nicer ass

I was like "So am I the only one who's here for the guns ?

... you just know the email with your pick-up code, for the item you ordered on Amazon Prime for next day delivery, is not going to arrive until after the place where the locker is located has closed.

And what good is complaining? All they'll say is the Prime promise refers to delivery, not when I'll get the item in my hands.

That's part of what keeps me from using the locker delivery, even though the store is 3/4 mile from my house, and Amazon has flooded this area in the last six months with Prime delivery trucks.

It's a must for me, though, as it's the only way I can receive the items. If I use my home address, chances are I'll not be in when it arrives, which means it will go back to the local depot for three weeks, as most things I order won't fit through the letterbox. The local depot doesn't open until 07:00 (I've left for work by then), closes at noon (well before I return home from work), and doesn't open on the weekends.

The store closes at 16:00, I got the email with the pick-up code at 15:58. The bastards do it on purpose!!

TMW Amazon opens up a Swedish web store but rush the translations (or use their own machine translation tool without proofing anything?)...

Looking at some of the item names we can apparently buy:
    • Puzzles, pillows and cloths with pictures of "rape" (the sexual assault, not the plant).
    • Baking trays for chocolates, bread and "poop" (no idea what that was even translated from).
    • A congratulations card with a picture of a "massive dick" ("cock" translated as dick rather than rooster).
    • An icecream machine that looks a lot like tight pants (translated from "icebreaker").
They also listed frying pans in the "For women" category (I'm sure that one will end well...), and gave the Swedish language option the Argentinian flag instead of the Swedish one.

    :wtf:

Amazon Japan likewise lists cookware as "for women." I think it's an actual company policy.
