The Med is good for some really nice views. I remember someplace down by Dardenelles maybe that had a similar view.
I just googled it to see where it's at. Oh, this is where Hellespontus was said to be. I didn't know it was called Dardanelles. Good to know. Seems like a wonderful place. Interesting geography. Greece and the Eastern part of Turkey must have similar sceneries I presume. I haven't been to Turkey yet. Good thing about the Panorama is that it's just 20 minutes from where I live on motorbike. The way going there is beautiful. Serpentine roads over the mountains that smell of thyme and oregano.
I'm not sure if I have the right place, but that's the only one that really makes sense. Unless I was thinking of southern Turkey... Anyway, I went down there to visit the battlefield at Gallipoli. Terrifying place to look at through the eyes of a Marine, but a significant moment in the histories of Turkey, Australia, and New Zealand. There's a beautiful inscription there however: Not my photo, but I have a similar one somewhere: ETA: It appears that the inscription has been vandalized at the direction of the current Turkish leadership. Makes me sad, but not sad enough to open it up in the Debate Room.
Spoiler: Pineapple house Spoiler: Pineapple house II I managed to get out and about today. So I decided to visit the Pineapple house. The 1761 summerhouse crib of the old Earl of Dunmore. @ThunderAngel I believe a little while ago I said I'd maybe share my experience of working in a castle, I just happened to be in the area of said castle and took a picture. Still interested in hearing?
I was running around Falklands in Fife last week and here is some of the pictures. Spoiler: Falklands chapel Spoiler: Falklands palace Spoiler: Falklands house Spoiler: Crypt Spoiler: Crypt 2 Spoiler: Pond Spoiler: Falklands street
I couldn't find the pet topic so I thought I'd upload a picture of my cat here. I bought her immediately upon moving into my place, before carpets were even fitted in the build. I visited the cat sanctuary intending to adopt the most unlikely cat to find a home. It took four months for me to even stroke her, during that time we had a stand-off where she'd hiss and run away any time I entered the room. Before moving in I spent 6 months sofa surfing, having awoke to my bedroom engulfed in flames at a very lucky time where I lived prior, given the amount of sedatives I am on - my advice, never use an electric heater. She has been a great comfort over the last two years and is inherently more anxious than me.
Ariana. The cat ladies at the cattery had already named her Ariadne or something along those lines so I didn't want to disappoint them too much. Get a lot of funny accusations of naming her after Ariana Grande.
It kind of does! Except for the guy in the fluorescent green jacket of course. But a very nice atmospheric picture.
It's a director of incredible films from Russia. You must see the opening sequence from Andrei Rublev. Let me see if it's online somewhere...
