Two of my characters are fleeing from the castle, and I'm not sure how to change from the castle to a forest. One chapter ends at the castle, and the next begins in a forest... how would I word that so it makes sense?
At some point, they're going to enter the treeline, once they leave the castle grounds. Describe that. Alternatively, simply start the next chapter in the forest. Unless something interesting happens while they're entering the forest, you can skip that bit. Just mention somewhere beforehand that they're heading for the forest, that is presumably near the castle. "Run! Run for the trees!" shouted hero A. END CHAPTER The trees loomed above them, the ominous branches blotting out the sky.
