I just got custom earphones from Big Ear. I think I left them in the car but they look just like this but they are red.
I got a couple of Jacksons. 7 string, huh? Never messed with one of those. No use for the extra 4 notes, I guess, but low B would be cool.
Just ordered a noise killer pedal, so that should help mitigate feedback and whatnot. Also an Israeli style GM with the straps, so that should be fun. On the reg side, a can of Pizza Pringles and a Cadburry Dark Choc Bar.
The wife got a new laptop. Its CPU is more powerful than my tower PC, even when it's on battery. I was initially grumpy about that, but she does a lot of processing work in video and audio editing. I think it might be time to upgrade, just because.
I just gave up and ordered a new PC, after struggling for months to repair/revive my old HP Pavilion Slimline. Going with Lenovo instead of HP this time. Nothing special, only an IdeaCentre 3, but I need to stick with a lower price and the compact form factor. The processor's better than what I had, at least, and when the tower comes in a week or so I'll have no excuse not to clean up the graphics on my author website. Happily, I've also gotten authorization to return the hardware I wasn't able to use on the old PC. Yay!
An LG television. I had my heart set on at least 50 inch but when I got the tape out to try and visualise how it would look in situ I couldn’t believe the size! It would have looked ludicrous. So I went for a 43 inch instead. Sod’s law says when I get it set up I’ll wish I’d gone bigger after all, but we shall see. Picking it up after work tonight hopefully.
There's some kind of formula to calculate screen size vs. the size of your lounge/living room & likely viewing distance. Too big a screen in too small a room is like sitting right in front of the screen at the IMAX. Overwhelming in all the worst ways. So you may be just fine with the 43. My living room's so dinky I'll have to settle for a 32", whenever I get around to buying a TV, that is.
Yes, I’m aware of this formula, but I think there’s other variables that aren’t always considered. Either way o expect you’re right. The way my settee is positioned means I’m only about 6 feet from the screen anyway. What’s more on my mind now is whether my current 32” TV will be too big to use as my monitor. I’ll be roughly 2.5 feet away
The battery in my LTE Blade smartphone died, and the cheapest battery at Amazon is $16, so I ordered a Samsung J3 Orbit phone (apparently new, not refurbished) from Tracfone for $9.99.
Ordered a wooden hiking stick, a rain coat and some canvases to paint, all of which are Christmas presents for people. Also some plug-in fairy lights for my little Christmas tree, because I'm fed up with fighting with batteries for my old ones.
Ordered three wire-bound Black n Red notebooks. I'm guessing a love of stationary is pretty common around here.
