Hey everyone! I have an idea for a story that was kind of inspired by learning briefly of the concept of “starseed children.” The idea (and I apologize if I am ruining this) is that some people on this earth are actually spiritual entities sent to advance the world’s consciousness further in some way. Are there any people who know a lot about this who would be willing to discuss it in more depth?
Interesting, are you thinking that they know that they are starseed or do they not know until "xyz" happens.
Yeah so the concept opens up a WHOLE can of worms. I’m thinking they *don't* know on a conscious level, but that they do know on a spiritual level.
Amazing! I admit, I've never heard about this concept before but I am thoroughly intrigued. Can you have the opposite of star seed? So, people are planted here to devolve the world's consciousness? I think that would be an interesting conflict. Definitely! Can they be linked with fate and destiny? So many possibilities.
Not much, it is kinda like an alien spirit kicking out the human soul and taking over the body. So I suppose in some way it is a kind of possession, just instead of it being a demon, it's an alien. Except the alien doesn't have to be invited into the body. With an extremely vivid imagination, anything is possible on the point. In reality as science can explain it, there is no evidence for it being a real thing. Sure you could have a loose form of spirituality, and that all beings with a soul die, that their spirits wander the universe and get a new start. Kinda like Cosmic Reincarnation. So instead of becoming an animal that exists only on earth, you could instead be a squid gator duck with neon fur on a planet where those types of creatures evolved. Though as per your topic, it seems to favor sentient creature's spirits tend to favor other sentient creatures to come back as. Either there are loads of species that are like humans (or more intelligent) giving the wandering spirit some options. Or, there isn't really that many civilizations (perhaps only us and them) in which case there isn't really a choice. Perhaps a question to consider is: If an advanced intelligent beings soul gets stuck in an inferior human body, is that the equivalent to what most believe would be Hell?
Should such things exist, I'd say they're failing in spades these days. Unless they have a popular YouTube channel. An interesting concept, though. I'd say you'd need a very modern analog (see my YouTube crack) to make it resonate.
Ah, but spiritual advancement tends to happen in the darkest of times, out of necessity. It's only facing the darkness inside (or outside) that fuels it.
I have a theory that narcissists are the opposite of starseeds. Narcissists (narcs) are characterised by a false self, a sense of superiority, and a need to dominate and control, because they are separated from the light/source, and therefore feel they have to manipulate or bludgeon their worth out of their interactions with others, rather than having it by default/ naturally - by being connected with something larger than themselves (that is, the light/ source - conventionally known as God). The vast industry of online narc videos all points to this type of person being a dark entity, with narcs existing on a spectrum with some more extreme than others. They are like poltergeists, feeding off the living, and using every trick in the book to try to drive you out of your mind - destroying you without physically killing you. (On the extreme end is psychopaths who would physically kill you as well). They all use identical strategies, as if they've all been the same academy for narcs, namely, projection, scapegoating, lying, deflection, gaslighting and smear-campaigning - leading me to think they all hail from the same dimension of the cosmos and have come to Earth in human form, paradoxically to serve human evolution - in that any encounter with a narc is the fastest way of being turned into an adult - capable of self-sufficiency and autonomy, no longer naive, no longer idealistic about relationships or about life. But this 'positive' effect can only occur if you have (or you quickly develop) a sense of your own self-worth and expand your own consciousness and self-awareness. Those not wised up to the narc's true identity and purpose on the planet can become like the narc themselves, being dragged down to lower vibrational levels. So in that sense narcs can be said to have been planted here (or they flock here) to feed off the insecure, the weak and the unconscious, destroying them or breaking their spirit, thereby devolving the world's consciousness. This is the archetypal battle between good and evil as seen in so many books, stories and films, such as The Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter.
We are all spiritual entities. We are all sent here to do just that. Some of us get lost in the way. I’m coming from a reincarnation (whatever doctrine) point of view.
Maybe some of them grow up to become Buddha. And some of them grow up to become Hitler. Now you could build a story out of that.
In the context of fiction, you don't have to stick closely to the New Age belief of Star People which was popular in the 1970s. You can write a story that is loosely based on the idea and make it up as you want it to be. I'd think of the story you want to tell and then work out the theoretical details to support it. Those details need to be plausible and coherent enough for a reader of fantasy/sci-fi fiction. The bar is set pretty low here, so long as whatever system you come up with is applied consistently. I'd ask, 'how are these people sent?' Aliens could have visited Earth in ancient times and have descendants today. Alternatively, an agent working for aliens could be a school nurse and inject selected children with a DNA modifying substance. Another question is, 'what do these special people do?' If, as a teenager, you found you had deep insights into how society should operate, what would you do?
