"Man, I gotta piss like a rushing race horse!" Really?! Rushing? How does that even make any sense at all? Horses don't piss while they're running—if one does, it's probably got serious medical problems. It's Russian. I don't know why or what it means. Why would Russian horses piss more than other horses? First thing to come to mind is Vodka, but I doubt they drink it. I don't know, maybe it's safer than the water? And suddenly it hits me—piss tests? Checking for steroids? Like those Russian athletes who dominated so many sports until drug testing came along. Not sure, but it's a possibility.
Can be amusing at times. A friend once told me that her husband was into 'colonic interrogation' (cf. colonic irrigation) Another had a boyfriend who turned up on her doorstep one day with all his 'goods and shackles' (cf. goods and chattels)
Random off topic observation - Colonic Rehydration is a spectacularly nasty interrogation technique... so you're closer than you might think.
My neighbor once told me how much she loves the autumn foilage. A friend, who occasionally writes, says things like derbis instead of debris. I know there's more but can't think of any now. But this guy is a figurative oak tree of eggcorns! Or would that be a chicken? EDIT—Wait, I don't think those are really eggcorns, they're just mispronounced words. D'oh!
so it's like plugging but with water? that's kind of a weird hobby to be honest; are you still in touch with these people?
Not so much these days, no. Actually I thought colonic irrigation was supposed to be quite healthy if carried out by a medical professional. Not really my cup of tea.
Also a rando thing some people do to get drunk, that is if you don't mind the burn based on Alc. %. the higher the percentage the stronger the burn. Suppose some people like their caffeine like their drink, hands free and messy. However the organic coffee thing seems popular at the present for some reason. My only question is do they take a bucket of brew with sugar and cream? At least there are still those few willing to experiment with new ways of getting their various chemical fixes. Bucket of joe in the morning, and a bottle of bourbon at night. You do you, and I'll stick with the more traditional means.
I've been educating myself, and apparently it's relatively common practice to infuse the water with herbs or coffee before shooting it up the colon.
"To the manor born" - possibly popularised by the BBC sitcom by the same name, the correct phrase is "To the manner born", meaning to be naturally suited to something, as if born to it.
I don't know if it's been mentioned here but I used to think that Alzheimer's disease was called old-timer's disease.
I was reminded today of another misheard song lyric. In the theme song of the original Spiderman cartoon (You know, "Spiderman, Spiderman, does whatever a spider can"), they sing "He's got radioactive blood". I used to think they were singing "He's the crazy old octopus". Well, spiders and octopuses both have eight legs so it COULD have been that, right?
When I was a little kid my mom started listening to country music. I thought the chorus to this Willie Nelson song was "angels flying hippos to the ground."
Reminded me. The New Year's song Auld Lang Syne. I always thought it was Old Anxime or Angzime or something. I thought that was somebody's name.
